Let the dentist get the job done! If you’re anything like me, you know when to let the professionals do what they do best. If the staining of your teeth runs deeper than surface-level, it may be time to get your dentist involved or at least get his or her professional opinion. Your dentist may be able to offer you LED technology known as ZOOM , a procedure that’s easily performed right in the dental chair. While there are versions of this technology that can be done at home, leaving this one to the pros will guarantee the best results. The procedure is pricey, but it only takes about 45 minutes and most patients are thrilled with the results.
Time-tested and natural. Totally inexpensive and used by many throughout the decades, is brushing with baking soda. You probably even have a box of baking soda in the back of the fridge, so this solution could end up costing virtually nothing. Try mixing a little baking soda with water (about a teaspoon of each) to make a homemade paste. Brush twice a day with this mixture and at the end of the week you should see a noticeable brightening and whitening improvement.
The old stand-by, the whitening strips. While historically, these things left behind a less than pleasant taste and an unbearable sensitivity to cold and heat; whitening strips have come a long way in the past few years. If you can stand standing around for 10 minutes a day, every other day or so, for about a week – whitening strips may be the best solution for you.
How about you – have you ever whitened your teeth? What worked best?
