When Andy Warhol first created his Lips print in the late `50s with a hand-carved rubber stamp, he struck the note that would later define his iconic pop-art career: that there´s a kind of terrible beauty in the repetitive cycle of fame, consumption and mass culture. This season, lips graphics - immortalized over the years with the help of the Rolling Stones - are omnipresent once more ( and just in time for Valentine´s :-) Prada reintroduced the brands spring 2001 lipstick print in its resort 2012 collection, while English designer Markus Lupfer put a sequined spin on this touchstone pout design, embalmed on a merino sweeter from his new spring line.

Haute Couture F/S 2012

Haute Couture ( hohe Schneiderkunst) ist ein geschützter Begriff. Alle 6 Monate präsentieren Designer, die sich mit diesen Label schmücken dürfen, ihre Kreationen in Paris.

Die Kleider der  Haute-Couture sind handgefertigt, aus den feinsten Stoffen, entsprechen höchsten Schneider-Vorgaben und kosten etwa ab € 80.000 aufwärts. Das ist durchaus in den Bereich Dekadenz einzuordnen allerdings zeigen mit diesen Kollektionen die Designer ihre wahre Kunst!

Als Wiedereinsteiger hat Versace die Pariser-Couture-Schauen eröffnet.Das Mailänder Modehaus präsentierte Outfits, die zart und futuristisch zugleich wirkten. Drauf folgte Dior, dass trotz des Wegganges von Galliano in einen Ausnahmezustand versetze und Givenchy verzückte mit seinen Kreationen aus einem Stil-Mix von Haute Couture und Urban.

Giorgio Armani frönte seiner Leidenschaft mit einer asiatischen inspirierten Schau, Karl Lagerfeld - Chanel - katapultierte die "Hohe Schneiderkunst" in die Lüfte, weiters waren außergewöhnliche Kreationen von Alexis Mabilly, Giambattista Valli, Maisen Martin, Margiela, Valentino,  Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, welcher mit einer Hommage an Amy Winehouse seine Schau ausklingen ließ..und noch viele mehr......zu sehen.

Zu erwähnen waren aber auch die Kollektionen eher unbekannter Haute-Couture-Designer wie Alexandre Vauthier, Gustavolins oder Julien Fournie´.

In a season defined by minimalism and natural beauty, hairstylists channeled easy elegance for spring. The sporting life was a popular theme with styles that looked fresh from the ocean or outdoors, and classic American glamour had a big moment with polished ponytails, graceful braids, and bouncy blowouts. Still, nothing was too perfect or impeccable—deconstructed waves and undone knots and twists proved that having a bit of an edge is as chic as ever.

Punk - Rockerin Alice Dellal wirbt für "Boy Chanel"

Passt eine Punk - Rockerin zu einer Chanel-Kampagne?
Ja - zumindest, wenn es um Alice Dellal geht, die von King Karl  als Werbetestimonial für die
"Boy Chanel" - Handtaschen-Kollektion des französischen Couture Hauses verpflichtet wurde!

Lagerfeld hat mal wieder das Zepter geschwungen und auf altbekannte Model-Wechsel-dich-Manier eine neue Muse gekürt. Nach Diane Krüger, Lily Allen und Blag Lively fiel nun die Wahl auf Model und Musikerin Alice Dellal.

Die 24-jährige Alice Dellal gilt in Großbritannien als It-Girl und ist zugleich die Patentochter  von Star-Fotograf Mario Testino, Schwester der Schuh-Designerin Charlotte Olympia sowie des Galeristen Alex Dellal( Ex-Freund von Prinzessin Charlotte von Monaco) und war als Model unter anderem in Kampagnen für Burberry, Alexander Wang und Mango zu sehen!

Die Kampagne wird  von Chanel-Urgestein Lagerfeld selbst fotografiert und ab März 2012 zu sehen sein.

Diese "unvorhergesehene Allianz" gefällt uns.......

Make up Trends for spring/summer 2012

For Spring/Summer the fresh face look introduced in the fall will return. The warmer season brings warm, luminous faces with just a hint of color, with either a focus on soft eyes with sheer pastel colors and well-defined brows; bronzer for a sun-kissed glow on the cheeks and eyes; or metallic and sparkling shadows in lighter shades paired with soft pink, coral or nude shades on the lips. There will be bright, vibrant colors, of course, but toned-down versions of neon shades that were hot last summer. Smoky eyes will return, paired with bronze lids. Eyes will be lined with pastel shades of green, lavender, silver and soft baby blues.

The overall message: pair vintage with modern to make a statement that’s unique and all your own this season!!!!
