4 MISTAKES WOMEN MAKE WHEN TRYING ON CLOTHES

Can you think of anything worse/more wonderful than trying on clothes? Depending on the day of the week, time of day and which part of the month – trying on clothes can go one of two ways. It’s either the best day ever, when you come home with lots of amazing scores or it’s totally scarring, when nothing (especially jeans) fit the way you want. The only thing that has the potential to be worse? Shopping for bathing suits. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone when I say that I love to shop, but I also dread the dressing room – so, check out this roundup of 4 important mistakes women make when trying on clothes – and do your best to avoid them!

4 Mistakes Women Make When Trying on Clothes
  • Focusing in on a single size. It’s super important to bring a variety of sizes into the dressing room – especially with jeans. Nothing fits exactly the same.
  • Skipping out on anything with a dry-clean only tag. If you love it, who cares how it has to be cleaned? Beside often times, you can totally hand wash.
  • Shopping late in the day. Try to hit the dressing room nice and early when you’re feeling good and you’ve only had a light breakfast. You’ll feel much better about yourself.
  • Avoiding anything that needs tailoring. Don’t ever forget that a good tailoring can make something fit like a glove.
How about you? What makes trying on clothes a good experience?

Yum! The Perfect Summer Sips

Finally it’s hot outside, the days are long and it’s the perfect time to sit outside by pool and relax with a cocktail Perfect summer sips are not hard to come by.  Everyone has their favorite poolside beverage.  I like a summer drink that’s refreshing and not too sweet like a simple gin and tonic with a squeeze of lime or a light mojito.  Sometimes a great mocktail is all you need – I still feel like I’m having fun for less calories.  Here are a summer drink recipes for an evening at home:

Cucumber-Lemonade Chiller
from Delish.com (if you really want to impress your guests, try this one – it’s delicious and pretty!)
Ingredients
- 3 Large cucumbers
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary (plus 4 sprigs for garnish)
- 1 cup water
- 6 ounces gin
- ½ cup lemon juice
- 3 tbsp agave nectar
- Cut 12 thin slices of cucumber for garnish
Peel and chop the rest of the cucumber; transfer to a food processor, add rosemary, and puree.  Pour the puree through a fine-mesh strainer set over a medium bowl or large measuring cup. Press on the solids to extract all the juice.  Add water, gin, lemon juice, and agave syrup to the cucumber juice; stir until the agave is dissolved.  Divide among 4 ice-filled glasses.  Garnish with cucumber slices and rosemary sprigs.

Let me know....:-)

5 Must-Haves for the Beach

With summer just around the corner, it’s no surprise that we keep day dreaming of our weekend trips to the beach, soaking in the sun with a nice cocktail in hand. Make sure you have everything you need with these five beach essentials  that will make your mini vacation stress-free!

Big Tote. A roomy bag to carry to the beach is an absolute must. It’s the building block of your day at the beach. For a bag that will endure the summer hear, try astraw beach tote. They’re durable, washable and usually big enough to carry all your essentials!
Blanket or Towel. The type of towel or blanket really depends on what you want to do while you’re there. If you plan on reading and relaxing while soaking up some sun, we recommend an oversized, good quality cotton towel or blanket.
Sun Protection. You can never be too protective of your skin. Make sure you apply lotion with a high SPF before you head out to the beach and don’t forget to reapply after getting in the water. A good pair of sunglasses is also an important essential to protect your eyes from UV rays!
Flip Flops. Flip flops are hands-down the best shoe to wear to the beach. You will not want to try to put a pair of closed toe shoes on your hot and sandy feet! Flip flops are lightweight and easy to clean, but other types of sandals will do the trick as well!
Entertainment. Depending on who you will be going to the beach with, we recommend bringing something that will help with entertainment. You can save a lot of room in your bag with a tablet that will keep all your reading material in one place. If you are at the beach with children, sandcastle-building toys are a fun choice.
These are just a few must-haves that we think will make your trip to the beach outstanding! What else will you be bringing with you?
