Julien Macdonald’s sparkling creations shimmied and strutted down the catwalk on men and women alike at Goldsmiths’ Hall today.
Staying true to brand, models were dressed in extravagant sequin and
lace gowns as they walked briskly in time to the piercing beat. Bodycon
dresses and form-fitting jumpsuits featured risqué mesh placement and
thigh-high slits that captured the audience’s attention entirely.
Cut-out details, mesh panelling and intricate laddering were recurrent –
often leaving little to the imagination – and a sophisticated colour
palette of black, silver and scarlet shone effortlessly under the
spotlight.
Menswear was cleverly integrated into the collection to complement the
dominant women; Swarovski embellishment was applied equally on smart
shirts, suit jackets and zip-up tops, all in black.
As usual – and to the crowd’s delight – Macdonald appeared on the runway
to close the show. This season, he walked alongside Winnie Harlow as
they acknowledged a well-deserved rapturous applause.
Keep doing
