How to Wear Metallic Pieces At Daytime

We usually would pick gold elements and pieces for a night outfit, but you can always structure your look in a way that you can wear them in daytime and look super chic and trendy.  Try to layer a gold satin slip dress over a brown turtleneck, pair it with nude pumps and finish the look with a statement bag. You also pair a sparkly gold midi skirt with a crisp white shirt and sneakers for a casual take on the trend.

Julien Macdonald autumn/winter 2017 collection catwalk

Julien Macdonald’s sparkling creations shimmied and strutted down the catwalk on men and women alike at Goldsmiths’ Hall today.

Staying true to brand, models were dressed in extravagant sequin and lace gowns as they walked briskly in time to the piercing beat. Bodycon dresses and form-fitting jumpsuits featured risqué mesh placement and thigh-high slits that captured the audience’s attention entirely.

 Cut-out details, mesh panelling and intricate laddering were recurrent – often leaving little to the imagination – and a sophisticated colour palette of black, silver and scarlet shone effortlessly under the spotlight.

Menswear was cleverly integrated into the collection to complement the dominant women; Swarovski embellishment was applied equally on smart shirts, suit jackets and zip-up tops, all in black.

 As usual – and to the crowd’s delight – Macdonald appeared on the runway to close the show. This season, he walked alongside Winnie Harlow as they acknowledged a well-deserved rapturous applause.

Victoria Beckham Will Receive OBE For Services To Fashion

The fashion designer will receive her award in Queen Elizabeth’s New Year’s Honours list, and the news was supposed to be kept a secret until it was announced by Buckingham Palace, but it has since leaked after Victoria informed family members.

 

 Tory MP Andrew Bridgen told the Daily Mail: “Nominees are sworn to secrecy, so she has broken the first rule of being offered the honour. It would appear to be a breach of protocol and perhaps raises questions over her suitability that she has leaked her own nomination. This further discredits our honours system.”

 And fellow Tory Peter Bone added: “It is certainly a betrayal of etiquette, it is just not done. It is just wrong and I don’t understand why anyone would leak something like that. To get an honour is extremely important and it might well be for a very good reason but you just don’t leak it. Full stop.”

Victoria  Beckham – who was named a UN Goodwill Ambassador in 2014 – will receive her OBE for her charity work and contributions to fashion.

Victoria’s husband David Beckham received an OBE in 2003.

Beckham/Posh Spice will be the first member of the Spice Girls to receive the honor, though considering their enormous contributions to the late '90s pre-teen culture and style, we expect she won't be the last!!

Critics’ Choice Awards 2016 – Best Dressed

There was no shortage of glamour on the Critics' Choice Awards red carpet, with some of the biggest names in film and TV gathering to kick-off awards season.

Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Emma Stone and Kate Beckinsale made their mark donning stylish gowns in black and white as they arrived at the event held at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Los Angeles.

Kidman, 49, who stars in Lion and is up for the supporting actress award, looked simply stylish in a black off-the-shoulder two-piece gown by Brandon Maxwell.

 

 

 

Bella looked stunning in a black Alexander McQueen gown with silver and black detailing covering up her left side, but leaving the right side of her body completely exposed. She pared down the look with a sleek low ponytail with a center part .. she wore the sexiest dress at the Critics´ Choice Awards!

Everyone’s Favorite Balmain Mini Dress

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Balmain! Specifically, the now infamous Balmain mini dress.  It’s short, chic and flattering to every body at every age. The mini dress is almost every celebrity’s go-to look for the red carpet, and with good reason. It’s almost no surprise that one dress in particular dress gets worn more than once. Take, for example, the time Kris Jenner and Demi Lovato wore the same dress on different red carpets. Needless to say, they both look gorgeous in their own way. Check them out below!

Jennifer Lopez Hot In Zuhair Murad Couture Jumpsuit

Jennifer Lopez attended the 17th Annual Latin Grammys on Thursday in Las Vegas, where she performed at the event for the first time.

 

 The beauty stole the style spotlight in a glittery black jumpsuit from Zuhair Murad’s Winter 2016 couture collection. She was covered in head-to-toe sequins and lace detailing and showed off her toned body in the form fitting one-piece.

 Jennifer later changed into an embellished white mini dress for her performance. At the event was J. Lo’s ex-husband and close friend Marc Anthony, who was honored for Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

 

 They surprised everyone when they got together on the stage for a duet. “Marc is a living legend,” Lopez said from the stage. “He is a magical and pure artist giving away classics that will stay forever.  He will always be many things in my life.”

Both of them have been working on a new all-Spanish album, which is reported for release this month.

Later at the night JLo changed to another one of her go-to houses in a shimmering Elie Saab playsuit that showcased her killer legs. The neckline was plunging too—a Lopez trademark.

Fall Trend: Short-Strap Cross-Body Bags

Best Dressed at amfAR’s Paris Couture Party

Celebrities and fashion lovers alike made their way to amfAR’s Paris Couture soiree hosted by Donatella Versace. Naomi Campbell, Tory Burch Jennifer Garner all made an appearance at the party in support of amfAR and Versace. You know that when there’s a fashion party, there are going to be some fashionable looks worthy of mention. Below are some of my top picks for best dressed at the party. Jennifer Garner was spotted in a sleek black Atelier Versace dress alongside Donatella herself. I love both these looks. They’re very sleek. They fit right in at this event.

Naomi Campbell rocked a black, sheer deconstructed dress. She paired the look with some classic black pumps and her supermodel smile. Gorgeous as always.

Olivia Palmero posed alongside her husband in a red chiffon Versace number. I love the leg slits in this dress. It’s a fashion forward yet sexy look. It’s definitely notable.

Shanina Shaik wore a lilac gown to the event. It’s a classy dress that fits Shaik’s model-esque style. Check out that train!

Denim shorts are a summer staple no matter who you are or what your body type is. It’s just too hot outside so we’ve all put away our skinny jeans and opted for some shorts instead. If you’re unsure on how to style those super cute denim shorts you bought just for the summer. I’ve got some tricks on how you can rock denim shorts and look trendy and fashionable while doing so. If you’re going for a casual, take a style note from Hilary Duff. She’s wearing her denim shirt with a relaxed baseball tee. To style her look, she’s gone for some fun accessories, including a floppy hat and a long rabbit’s foot necklace. It’s a very cute look, don’t you think?

I love how Kendall Jenner styled her denim shorts below. Use a top that shows off your bra or some unique shoes to help style your look in a way that speaks to your style.

Aside from her short-lived days as a platinum blonde, Taylor Swift is known for her all-American classic styles. She wears tailored skirts and dresses with sweet patterns on them and simple ballet flats as accessories. So it’s almost no surprise that she’d pair her denim shorts with a simple fitted top and her signature red lips.

Karlie Kloss went for a complete festival look in her denim shorts. Festivals are where you’re supposed to get creative so don’t be afraid to stand out in your denim shorts.

How to Rock Work-Appropriate Summer Outfits

It’s getting hot out there, but you already know this. At this point in the summer, the last thing you want to do is get dressed up every day for work, and you’d love nothing more than to throw on some flip-flops and shorts. Yeah, that’s probably not going to fly. Luckily, there are definitely ways to keep cool and office-appropriate in sweltering temperatures. Keep reading to see how you can make a stylish statement without sweating up a storm. Here are some tried and true tips on how to stay cool in work-appropriate summer outfits.

If You’re Headed to an Interview

 

See your trusty black pantsuit? In this heat, skip right over that baby. Instead, you’ll want to layer like a pro. Start with a sleek pencil skirt, then add a sophisticated top: short sleeved, sleeveless, 3/4 sleeved, or even a tank if it’s appropriate for your office. Then, right before you head out the door, simply throw on a blazer to look interview-ready. My favorite look always includes a patterned top! Unless you’re interviewing in an extremely conservative environment, patterns are perfectly appropriate and will inject personality into a potentially blah ensemble.

 

If You’re Headed to Happy Hour After Work

 

While a night out after work might inspire you to pull out something fun and fitted, loose-fitting garb is the only way to go. Remember, you want your sweat to evaporate, and tight clothing will only retain moisture.
Look for tunics and shift dresses, which go effortlessly from day to night. You can also keep a cute clutch and pair of heels in your car or bottom desk drawer and trade them in quickly for a more fun look. And if humidity has taken a toll on your hair over the course of the day, add a quick topknot to complete your transformation.

In the cooler months, casual Friday is so easy—throw on your favorite dark jeans with a great top, and you’re good to go! But the summer is a bit tougher: It’s too hot to wear jeans, but shorts and sundresses aren’t HR-approved at most offices.
My summertime go-to is casual-yet-covered dresses in cotton, rayon, and silk-linen blends, which will stay wrinkle free and “breathe” efficiently. (Synthetic materials, like polyester, actually retain both moisture and heat.) I picked this dress because it’s a more fun look than I’d wear Monday to Thursday, but it’s still perfectly professional if I get pulled into a meeting.
