5 of my Most Stylish Film Moments

Movies have the ability to transport us to another world. They do this with the help set designers, editors and, most importantly, costume designers. Costume designers bring the look of the film together and figure out exactly what certain characters should look like. Some costume designers have been able to go above and beyond in order to create character’s whose style becomes iconic. Check out some of the most stylish film characters of all time according to me. Let me know what you think in the comments section.

Breakfast At Tiffany’s, anyone?

Cleopatra- If you’re going to play the Queen of The Nile, you’re going to have to look fabulous.

Clueless

Carrie Bradshaw- We went to go watch the Sex and The City movies for the sex, the girls, but most importantly the style. I will always adore Carrie’s wedding look. She looked stunning.

The Devil Wears Prada brought us one of the best fashion montages and makeovers of all time with Andy Sachs rocking more designer names than I could count.

Let me know !! xx

Styling By Iconic Movie Moments

I love the movies, don’t you? When you’ve got that warm popcorn in hand, the lights dim, and the movie begins, you can’t help but feel a tinge of nostalgia. What’s even better is when you’re watching a film and you catch that moment that you know will go down in film history. Maybe it’s just a dramatic performance or maybe it’s a dress that you cannot keep your eyes off of. You guessed it, those are my favorite types of movie moments. When a outfit or a dress comes out on screen that takes my breath away, I know it’s an iconic moment in itself. Check out some of my favorite fashion moments in iconic movies along with how to incorporate their essence into your own style. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Breakfast At Tiffany’s- That black Givenchy dress is such a classic that it can still be worn similarly today. To wear a similar look that Audrey would be proud of, go for a little black dress and some pearls. To really go all out, pick up a tiara. It’s your own slice of Breakfast at Tiffany’s so do it the way that feels the most “you,” that it can.

How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days - We all remember the yellow dress that Andie wore as she half-screamed Your So Vein to Matthew McConauhey’s character during an impromptu karaoke session. To emulate this dress, try out the canary yellow color, but also be sure to pay attention to the back. Something low cut would work perfectly and look stunning.

Atonement - That silky green dress fit Keira Knightly like a glove as she gave a beautiful performance in this historical romance drama. It was widely talked about and became a symbol for a film at the time. To rock a similar look, try a flowy gauzy forest green skirt or a green maxi dress. It’ll turn heads, just like Keira’s green dress.

AUDREY HEPBURN STUNS IN BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S .... WHY ?

One of the most beautiful movies to come from the 1960’s, Audrey Hepburn stars as a dreaming girl who lives life in a frivolous, yet down to earth manner in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Here are the top reasons that her character, Holly Golightly, is easily on the top of my list for most amazing fictional characters ever!
She Eats What She Want

All too often we see women feeling pressured into eating the “diet foods”…not Holly! She eats what she wants when she wants it! Eating donuts and coffee first thing in the morning? OK!
She Dresses in Style

For a woman to be expected to keep up her appearance isn’t as required today as it was back in the 60’s. A woman who chooses to value herself and show that outwardly by taking the time to style herself is a confident forward thinking woman in my mind.
She Decorates in New Ways

There has never been a film with a bathtub couch before Audrey Hepburn debuted this gorgeous piece of furniture in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Why not take a chance – go with what YOU like!

She Never Stops Dreaming

Even while she may not be able to afford the luxury of Tiffany’s, she never gives up on her dream! And when she comes close to fulfilling her dreams, she appreciates every little step along the way.
She Never Underestimates the Power of Red Lipstick

Even when everything around you feels like it’s crumbling down, flip open your mirror, uncap your lipstick, and pucker up because everything is going to be all right. It’s psychologically proven that the color red ignites emotions of confidence and a “make it happen” attitude.
She Rocks the Timeless Monochromatic Trend
While our style calendar may be experiencing a rebirth of this trend, Audrey Hepburn knew how to rock this look long before it graced any catwalk. Take it from the pro – pair your girly separates in black and white for a flawless look.
What do you think – does she win in your mind? Let me know your thoughts on this super classy lady in the comments below! xo
