STYLING MUST HAVE: Oversized Sweaters

A sweater is one of the best fashion friends a woman can have, especially this winter season. With the many styles and designs out there, make sure to break out of the box! Do try a unique trend, such as that of an oversized sweater. Loose and comforting, this sweater can make you look glamorous, as long as it is styled in any of the following ways:
Think About Texture

Oversized sweaters are often seen as boyish fashion elements. Bring out the feminine side of this topper by wearing it with luxe fabrics and trimmed clothing. A frilly dress or an embellished skirt can make your sweater ready for a dressy event.

BE CHIC IN CROPPED PANTS

In fashion, it pays to have a balanced look. So if you plan on wearing an oversized sweater, then pair it with fitted bottoms, a good example of which is cropped pants. Not only will it complement your king-size top, it can make your legs look slimmer as well.

Belt it Out

If you want to showcase your figure, you can still do so with an oversized sweater. Create a svelte figure simply by putting a belt on.

Outfit Tricks

Winter dressing can be a little troublesome, with the layering and what not. Although this is the case, you can still make your outfit look more expensive – without purchasing high-fashion items.  To accomplish this, all you just need to do is follow these tips that can make your outfit look more sophisticated.

BELT YOUR COAT

A frumpy coat can keep you warm through the blizzards, but wearing it plainly can make you look more like a slob. Upgrade your look without wasting your hard-earned money just by belting your coat. Not only will it highlight your waist, it can add dimension to your simple coat as well.

DECORATE YOUR TURTLENECK

A turtleneck is a simple topper that can keep you warm during winter. Make this cold season attire look more fabulous by wearing a necklace over it.

Go Leather on Leather

Leather is one of the most luxurious fabrics ever. Look more expensive than ever by wearing your leather pants/leggings with leather boots. More than just sophistication, a leather-on-leather tandem can keep you warm for the entire day.

GO HEAVY WITH JACQUARD

Jacquard is an intricately woven fabric that is perfect for the winter. While it has a tinge of exclusiveness with it, you can achieve a finer look by choosing clothes made of heavy jacquard fabric. Avoid thinner jacquard types as they tend to look sloppy.

Choose a wool HAT

While you might love your beanie for the head warmth it provides, the truth of the matter is it gives off a ‘cheaper’ vibe. If you want to look more sophisticated, nix the beanie for a classier wool hat. It’s not as expensive, but it can make you feel like a thousand bucks. xo

White Shirt And Jeans Remix

Basic items – such as the white shirt and skinny jeans – are the building blocks of fashion. Truly versatile, you can dress them up, or dress them down. Break away from the casual look by employing any of these hot ways to style your favorite white shirt and skinny jeans.

TAKE THE TRENCH

In awfully cold weathers, such as the preceding fall and the current winter, it’s not that enough that you hit the streets in just these two pieces. Upgrade your look – and stay on the warm side of things – with a trench coat. For a sleek style, wear it with heels – such as the style below.

ROCK IT OUT

If you are headed out for a concert – or if you just like to look rock chic – then make sure to throw a black leather/moto jacket over your top-and-jeans attire. While sneakers or boots are obvious footwear choices, a strappy shoe – such as the one below – can soften and glam up your look.

Seek Inspiration from Men

A white top and skinny jeans are vital pieces by themselves, but you can make them look trendier by incorporating menswear pieces, such as oxford shoes. Or you can go for boyfriend jeans to add an immediate masculine feel to your outfit. xo

Cardigan Styling Guide

Cardigans – considered fashion staples – come in numerous shapes and sizes. Lately, one that has taken the fashion center stage is the long cardigan. Because of its extended length, it affords more coverage – and flair! Take hold of this trend with these hot ways to style a long cardigan.

GO CLASSICAL WITH DENIMS

Denims look great with virtually anything, so it’s bound to look mod with a long cardigan. When styling a long cardigan, think about contrast. If you have a frilly, feminine cardi, then wear it with ‘boyish’ jeans, such as distressed denim or boyfriend pants.

Look Luxurious in leggins

If you are tired of the usual sweater and leggings look, then consider trading your top for a long cardigan. This stylish combination can make you look hot – even in this nail-biting weather.

GO LONG – AND SHORT

Fashion is all about contrast. So if you want to rock a long cardigan, then wear it with shorts. But since it is winter, make sure to hide your glamorous gams underneath thick tights or leggings. Still on the long and short of things, another great piece that looks stunning with a long cardigan is the mini skirt. This sexy item, like the shorts, adds contrast to your attire. Again, to keep your legs from freezing, wear tights or leggings underneath. The high and low of these items can create a style that’s worthy of a runway.

BE A DARLING IN A DRESS

There are so many dress styles out there, so there’s bound to be a cardigan-and-dress pairing that will suit your taste. Keeping true with the long and short tradition is a mini dress. Again, the long cardigan adds a creative layer, which is vital for the winter season. Another dress to wear with a long cardigan is a maxi dress. This flowy attire is not only for the spring and summer, it is meant for winter as well. Its long length covers your legs, so leave it to the long cardigan to cover your arms. Create a shapely silhouette by accessorizing with a waist-cinching belt. xo
