Falltrend: Tweed

Tweed is such a wonderful fabric to sport during fall. It’s warm, it’s cozy and, with the right styling tricks, it’s chic too. I know lots of women who are afraid wear tweed because it’s a little too chunky and stuffy for them but I think it’s totally fab as long as you know how to style your tweed piece. If you’re looking for something new to add to your fall wardrobe this year, why not try out tweed? Here are some tips and ideas on how to wear tweed and look great in it.

TWEED TRENCH COAT – if you’re looking for an outerwear that’s sure to keep you warm and cozy on a chilly fall nigh out, a tweed trench coat is sure to get the job done for you. Wear it on top of any outfit to lend it a sophisticated vibe. We all know that the trench coat alone is enough to give any look an air of chic but wearing one in tweed is just going to bring it to a whole new level. What’s great about a tweed trench coat is that you can pair it with something dressy and fancy like a sexy evening dress and it will look great with it but you can also wear it with something as simple and as casual as jeans and a shirt and it’d still look totally awesome.

TWEED SUIT – need something new to wear to work to break the monotony of your style cycle? Why not give tweed suits a try? Tweed makes for a great fabric to use on suits because they hold shape and structure well, giving the suit a more polished look. What’s more is that you can always use the pieces included in your suit separately.

TWEED DRESS – another way to wear tweed is to rock a tweed dress. Now, most tweed dresses will come in the form of a sheath dress which is great for the workplace or for whenever you feel like wearing something with a little bit more structure without going too rigid and framed. A sheath dress, especially one in tweed, is also perfect for when you want something simple but not so that it’s shapeless and formless altogether.

Falltrend: 60’s mood

The mod look is one of fall’s biggest fashion trends to make a comeback. We’ve seen lots of it on the runways as well as on magazines and quite a number of our favorite fashion bloggers are starting to master this look from back in the 60s. Sporting the mod look can be a little tricky. You’ll want your outfit to end up looking classy and timeless instead of tacky so choosing which items to mix and match is important. If you want to take on this resurfacing trend, check out these mod fashion wardrobe must haves.
Shift dress – a shift dress is a definite must have in any mod wardrobe. Its versatility makes it a piece worthy of some closet space. If you want something that you can wear along with other looks apart from mod, go for a shift dress in a plain, solid (preferably neutral) color. If you intend to use your shift dress solely for your mod looks, on the other hand, feel free to go crazy on the colors and print patterns on it.
Bright colors – another must have in any mod wardrobe is color. Lots of it, in fact. Anything fun, bright and vibrant is welcome in the mod girl’s wardrobe. Be bold and don’t hold back on choosing the loudest colors you can get your hands on. If you know how to do the color block, that’s even better. One of the things you should aim for with a mod wardrobe is an upbeat look and that’s where all the colors really come in handy.

Geometric patterns – the 60s mod look was a combination of a lot of things and one of the things that stand out among these is the print pattern that consists of geometrical shapes and lines. Florals, polka dots, stripes and all that jazz were, somehow, just in the background during the mod period and geometric patterns were front and center when it came to print styles.

Boxy silhouettes – as with any look, balance is what makes the mod trend fab and stylish and, since you already have all your bright, bold and loud colors to make up the most of your look’s color palette, one way to achieve balance in the mod look now is to wear simple, boxy silhouettes. This will keep the whole outfit looking sane and wearable.

Vintage accessories – of course, they weren’t considered vintage at the time but if you’re doing the mod look today, the accessories that completed the look back in the day are essential. Round sunglasses, capes, knee-high boots, tights, and funky chunky jewelry – these are just some of the accessories you’ll need for a mod look.

FALLTREND: Varsity Jackets

Varsity jackets have a very preppy look and feel but that doesn’t mean preppy looks are the only ones you can create with these chic babies. There are lots of other looks you can achieve using a school varsity jacket. All you really have to do to get some variation is to pair it with different pieces every time.
You can also keep away from the traditional colors and get your hands on printed varsity jackets if you’re looking for a more unique and stylish look. There are also cropped varsity jackets that you can go for on days when you want a more contemporary look. If you have a varsity jacket or two sitting in your closet, check out these ideas on what to wear with a varsity jacket and see how you can make the most out of them.
1. Jeans – if you’re looking for a safe and foolproof way to rock your varsity jacket, simply pair it up with jeans and sneakers and you’re good to go. This outfit combination is a little reminiscent of those days back in school when you had no time to put together an outfit at all and you just grabbed a shirt, put on your jeans and threw a jacket on top. It’s quick, it’s easy, no frill, no fuss, just good ol’ plain and casual chicness. Finish off with heels for a more athletic overall look or wear heels to make it look more girly. To make your outfit more summer-friendly, remember that you can always switch up your jeans with Daisy Dukes.

2. Graphic shirt – for a cool and totally laidback look, wear your varsity jacket with a cute graphic shirt and then maybe pair it with comfy boyfriend jeans. This look is just what you need for a lazy weekend. -

You can also try wearing it with a simple shift dress to create a posh and preppy outfit.  Let me know Lady´s !! xo
