Shops for Vintage Denim in NYC

Vintage stores can be hit or miss, but when we heard that Bella Hadid hunts for her Levi’s at The Vintage Twin in New York, we knew it had to be good. Run by twins Morgan and Samantha Elias, the sisters search around the world for their impressive collection of denim and vintage clothes.

Their online store features some of their finds, but they also run two pop-up shops in NYC. Each has a “JEANius Bar” where they specialize in finding the perfect fit and size for their It-girl clients. They also do custom pieces, like the reworked leather jacket and camo coat they recently designed for Cara Delevingne.

If you’re interested in seeing more, make sure to follow them on Instagram. They often post what their fashion girl fans have unearthed at their stores. Alexa Chung snagged a vintage tee and leather trench coat, pulling off Françoise Hardy vibes. And blogger Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What found a checked blazer and ankle cropped jeans.

Whether you’re after the perfect pair of vintage Wranglers or a worn-in band tee, The Vintage Twin is worth a visit.

Emma Roberts At the Lady Dior Event - Copy the Look

Dior Cruise 2017 made its debut to London last week. Did you see my best dressed post? Fashion’s elite came out to celebrate the occasion, including Emma Roberts in a chic yet simple outfit. Check her out below ..

Gorgeous. I love this look for it’s simplicity. To create this look all you need is a white dress, a red clutch and a leather jacket. Easy, no? Add on some lace-up heels and you’ve got yourself the perfect dress for a night out. If your fashion is missing some pieces to create this look, read on.

Wayf Blouson Midi Dress, Nordstrom, $68.00- I love flowy, relaxed midi dresses. This one is definitely perfect for lazy summer afternoons. Plus, it matches Emma’s dress perfectly. Add a jacket over this dress for a night out or keep it simple and rock it on it’s own. It’s definitely an easy dress that you can slip into any day of the week.

Guess Colorblocked Faux-Leather Moto Jacket, Macy’s, $94.99-  This jacket comes in black and white so you can rock a classic biker look or one that makes for a perfect summer outfit. Throw this jacket over your shoulders with the midi dress above and you’re sure to look fabulous

Kalala, Aldo, $48.99– The lace up heels below are so on-trend. They give the classic pump a chic upgrade. They’re sure to look fabulous with this look. It’s all about choosing unique separates for this look.

Street Leve Faux Leather Convertible Crossbody, Nordstrom, $21.60– Sure, a Dior purse like Emma’s would be great, but it’s not exactly fit for everyone’s budget. Go for the red purse below instead. Not only is it perfect for this look, but the price fits every budget.

What do you think of Emma Roberts’ look?

How to Rock the Maxi Skirt This Season

When the temperatures cool, your skirt style options become limited. You want to stay warm, so you usually just aim for jeans and other pants that cover you up and keep you safe from fall and winter’s cool breezes. Well, I’m here to tell you that you can still wear skirts during cooler seasons. It’s all about layering right to make skirts work for you. Today, I want to focus on maxi skirts because they’re so comfortable and make for great fall staple. Still unconvinced? Below are some ways that you can wear maxi skirts for fall. Read on and let me know what you think in the comments section.

Leather Jacket- Add a leather jacket to your maxi skirt for a rock and roll edge that no one will be expecting this fall. You’ll look edgy and sharp, so go for it!

Denim on Top- I love the idea of un-tucking a shirt from a maxi skirt. It looks so easy to wear. Check out the model below. She’s rocking denim over a maxi skirt with a belt to cinch her waist. This look would look great with some outerwear.

Knit Sweater- For some interesting texture; add a big knit sweater over your maxi skirt outfit like Alexa Chung, below. I love how she added some relaxed sneakers to complete her outfit. Take note, ladies

Leather Jacket Layering

The temperatures are cooling this fall, which means it’s time to layer up. I was packing a leather jacket for my trip to New York a few weeks ago when I realized that I didn’t quite know how to layer it. I did some Internet research and got some ideas.  Eventually, I figured out what else to pack. If you’re in a similar predicament and don’t know exactly what to wear with your leather jacket, no worries, I’ve got you covered. Check out some ways that you can look fabulous while wearing a leather jacket below and let me know what you think in the comments section.

With Some Stripes- Wear a cool striped shirt under your leather jacket in order to create interesting patterns and textures. Add a flannel shirt to tie around your waist for a totally rock and roll look.

Over Some Button Downs- Add your leather jacket over a comfortable button down for an outfit that’s a little preppy and a little grunge. I love the look below. It’s very tailored. Make sure your button down fits your body perfectly to make this style work.

Add A Scarf- Put a long scarf around your neck to keep warm. It will create a unique silhouette.

Added To A Maxi Skirt- Try rocking your leather jacket with a maxi skirt. It’ll add something a little different to your silhouette, yet still look lovely.

Fall Jackets Styling

Jackets are one of the things you shouldn’t be without during fall. This piece can add warmth and comfort to your look while you’re out in the cold and it adds to the style and gorgeousness of your overall look, too! With so many jacket styles to pick from, it’s so easy to be overwhelmed – something that you wouldn’t want to feel when you’re on a budget. If you’re looking for jackets worth spending on and adding to your fall wardrobe, check out these jackets to wear with your street style fall look.
  • Denim jacket – denim jackets will always be on the list of must have jackets not just for fall but all year round because it’s chic and versatile at the same time. Wear a denim jacket anytime you want to dress down a rather fancy piece. You can also wear it on days when you just want something simple and classic. Denim jackets are great for layering, too! They’re not too warm yet won’t leave you freezing out in the cold.

Leather jacket – a leather jacket is a classic that, in my opinion, every woman should have. If you love the posh, chic and sleek look, you should definitely own a leather jacket and have it in your closet ready at all times. A leather jacket can give you a really cool and edgy kickass look when worn with pieces in black or leather but you can also get a sweet and sexy look with it when worn with more girly pieces. -

Embellished jacket – too tired to put together a cute outfit? Even the most basic, plain outfit would be a head turner when topped off with a cute embellished jacket. If you’re on a tight budget, you can DIY your own using a few craft supplies and an old jacket of your choice. This is sure to take your fall street style game up a notch instantly.

Cropped jacket – if you need something to add a bit more structure into your look, go for a cropped jacket. Cropped jackets are also great for emphasizing the curves on your hips since most have a length that fall just right above it and this makes for an insanely sexy silhouette.

Metallic jacket – showstopper by day, ultimate party outfit topper by night – that’s basically what a metallic jacket is and if you’re looking for something that’s sure to give your outfit that much needed ‘oomph’ this is the best way to go.
