Refresh Your Wardrobe

Spring-cleaning came and went. You gave away clothes to thrift shops and consignment stores and now you’re left with everything else. You love the clothes in your closet. You sincerely do, but style-wise, you just haven’t been feeling up to it. Where’d the energy that you once had waking up in the morning inspired to style yourself go? It’s time to refresh your wardrobe and step out of your style comfort zone once again. Re-style and reimagine looks from your own closet, because who has time for a trip to the mall right now, anyway?

Get DIY Happy- It’s time to tap into your crafty side. Looking up DIY tutorials is a great way to help freshen up your wardrobe and turn old style staples into new ones. Cut off the sleeves, make holes in your jeans, just do what you have to feel inspired by style again.

Mix Separates- Mix separates that you haven’t worn before and rock them with shoes and accessories, you never thought you could rock. Give yourself a goal of mixing separates you’ve never worn together, at least once a week. Turn it into a habit and see your closet transform.

Try Out Clothes You Don’t Often Wear- We all have those dresses and jeans collecting dust in our closets. It’s time to dust them off and give them new life. Wear them once and while, lady! Feel good about your outfit

Add Unexpected Accessories- Add accessories to an outfit you normally wouldn’t consider. Add spikey studs to a floral, garden party look and add dark lipstick. Your friends will start to expect the unexpected from you.

Play Dress Up- As a kid, I had a trunk full of clothes and fun accessories and would play dress up and act out scenes in my head. Now, it’s your turn to go back to those days. The best aspect of style is that it allows you to be whoever you want to be. So go in front of your mirror and have some fun! You deserve it.

WARDROBE TIPS

Graduation season is upon us, which means a whole new set of educated women is making their way into the workforce and I cannot help but be proud. You did it, but now it’s time to upgrade your styling game. Sure, those leggings and sorority sweatshirts were great for class, but class is no longer in session. It’s time to retire them for Netflix binge sessions. So what’s next, aside from taking on the world? Going form your college wardrobe to your grown up wardrobe, because we all know it’s time.

Invest In A Silk Top- Silk tops not only say classy and educated, but grown up as well. A silk top doesn’t have to be a frumpy statement to the world; you can pair it with a sassy pencil skirt and pumps. You can make it all your own with accessories. Perfect for that dream job, I know you’re bound to get.

Keep Your Silhouette In Mind- That giant flowy top you wore over your leggings may have been trendy in college, but didn’t exactly keep your figure in mind. Now it’s time to focus on your shape and acknowledge exactly what shape you are. If you’re curvier or squarer, it’s time to dress for that shape and figure out what silhouettes look best for you.

Consider Visiting A Tailor - If you have pieces in your wardrobe that you just cannot live without, then consider making them just the right fit by visiting a tailor. You’ll be surprised in the change you’ll see in those pieces and how they’ll be able fit differently to your body.

Make It You- Sure, change is the only constant, but abandoning your own personal style would be an absolute travesty. You can update your style by still wearing your signature color, or colors. They make neon blazers, so have at it. However you choose to update your look, please keep your own personality in mind.
