Colourblock Looks

Without a doubt, colour-blocking is a bold and fun way to dress! The secret is to make sure the focus remains on you and not solely the style technique.

You may recall the height of Color-blocking trends popularity first in the 1960’s and later in the 1980’s. This past season designers revisited color-blocking techniques and ended up creating some exciting modern styles.

The public and press fell head over heels with the look, so designers continued the trend throughout their winter collections. There are three techniques to styling a colour-blocked outfit – select one:

1. Monochromatic = one color throughout entire outfit in different hues.

2. Separates = mix garments of contrasting (2-4) colors.

3. Stand-Alone = one color-blocked garment or accessory where the designer has already done all the work for you.

Everyone’s Favorite Balmain Mini Dress

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Balmain! Specifically, the now infamous Balmain mini dress.  It’s short, chic and flattering to every body at every age. The mini dress is almost every celebrity’s go-to look for the red carpet, and with good reason. It’s almost no surprise that one dress in particular dress gets worn more than once. Take, for example, the time Kris Jenner and Demi Lovato wore the same dress on different red carpets. Needless to say, they both look gorgeous in their own way. Check them out below!

I can see why everyone loves this dress so much!

Christmas gift: Christian Louboutin’s Ultra Luxe Lipstick

When Christian Louboutin was asked “what woman can wear his Rouge Louboutin Lip Colour”, he replied simply, yet definitively “every woman!”.  After all, the iconic shade was formulated to complement women of all skin tones, and comes in three different finishes to suit any occasion.

Just in time for the holidays, the designer re-introduces the Rouge Louboutin Lip Colour Collection Limited Edition comprised of Rouge Louboutin Lip Colours in three finishes: Silky Satin, Velvet Matte, and Sheer Voile. The jewelry inspiration comes to life with a gunmetal chain to complement the silver, gold, and black finishes of each piece.

For Christian Louboutin, a designer and creator of rare objects, lipstick is a woman’s magic wand. No longer tucked away between the key ring and the nail file, the Louboutin Lip Colour transforms a forgotten object into a treasured jewel.

Inspired by Middle Eastern antiquities and the Art Deco movement, the solid metal body is reminiscent of a precious vial. The turret-like crown cap is topped with a small ring threaded with a silk ribbon, turning the lip colour into a necklace.

The 2017 Pirelli

The 2017 Pirelli calendar is featuring 14 of the most prolific actresses from around the world like Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara, Helen Mirren,  Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o, Uma Thurman.

This calendar celebrates strong but natural women and the photographer Peter Lindbergh wanted zero airbrushing or retouching: “I wanted to use the 2017 Calendar to convey a different kind of beauty,” Lindbergh says. “Since it’s based on consumption, the present system offers a single kind of beauty, which is essentially one of youth and perfection, since its objective is to get people to consume.”

“But this idea of beauty has nothing to do with the real world or with women. Through the Pirelli Calendar I’ve tried to convey a different message, which is that beauty is far more than what advertising offers us today. My aim was therefore to portray women in a different way: and I did this by calling in actresses who’ve played an important role in my life, getting as close as possible to them to take my photos.”

The photographer added: “I wanted to portray women not in terms of their perfection, but through their feelings and emotions,” the photographer explains. “That’s why I called this edition of the Calendar ‘Emotional’: not some artificial perfection, but the real world and the emotions that well up behind the faces of these women.”

Lindbergh, has always been inspired by the movies. “I think photography is as interesting as cinema because you can use just the slightest thing to make a whole lot of things visible. You see someone crossing the street: in cinema it would be nothing, whereas in photography time stops at a given moment—a wonderful, strange, intensely profound and emotional moment—a moment that comes from nothing, simply because time has stopped,” he says. “I think this is what makes photography so fascinating.”

Victoria’s Secret Angels Beauty Tips

Backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, surrounded by gorgeous women in slinky pink robes and lingerie, one thing was clear: These girls are flawless. Not only have they won the genetic lottery, but they’ve also got access to some of the best beauty pros in the industry.

As flaw-free as they may look in catalogues and on the runway, even Angels don’t wake up with those perfectly tousled waves and glowing skin.
Check out some of the tips the Angels themselves shared with us!

Alessandra Ambrosio swears by sunscreen every single day to keep her skin healthy. “After you turn 30, you need to keep your face out of the sun if you want to still work [as a model],” she says ..
It’s important it is to curl your lashes before putting mascara on — it really helps to open up your eyes. Shu Uemura makes a great eyelash curler.

To make the illusion that you have fake lashes get a card — like cardboard or a credit card place it behind your eyelashes, and then you use your mascara and push it against it, and then it makes it look like you’ve got a false lash. It’s really good.

Always do the contouring and highlight the cheekbones, the eye sockets with a little bronzer… just that, even, kind of makes you look more awake and refined, and you can do in two seconds. That’s something you can do every day.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016

The outfits were more over the top than ever—we're talking dramatic details using lace, fringe, leather, and more. While last year saw the runway debut of BFFs Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, their sophomore season was arguably even better: The former donned a pretty black-and-white number while the latter was outfitted in a spectacular black outfit with straps galore. All the VS veterans also made a strong showing, including Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima. It was tough to narrow down our picks, but we've rounded up the very best looks below.

Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and the entire crew were in top form as usual. The show included musical performances by The Weeknd, and Lady Gaga.
