Gorgeous Fall Wedding Trends

Spring and summer are considered wedding seasons and while they may have already gone, getting married in fall is just as magical and romantic. I personally love a fall wedding more than a wedding during any other season. I just think fall is the perfect time to do a rustic romantic wedding, which is totally chic. If you’re getting married this fall (or next fall), check out these breathtaking fall wedding trends that you can incorporate to it.

1. Darker, warmer, richer colors – forget about neon shades and pastels, this fall, use darker, warmer and richer colors for your wedding motif. This will give the whole wedding a cozier, more homey and more rustic feel.

2. Long sleeved dresses – it would only make sense to go for long sleeved dresses but aside from that, it’s quite the trend too. If you don’t mind being covered up a little bit more than the usual bride, going for a long sleeved dress is definitely one of the best ways to go. You can keep your bridal look sexy by keeping your dress’s silhouette so.

3. Bridal outerwear – in case you already had your dress done sans sleeve, you can still keep yourself warm by adding on an outerwear. Of course, you’ll want to choose something appropriate to go and blend in well with your whole bridal look; something elegant, classy and feminine. Capes are on trend right now so those are an option. You can also go for a fur shrug or maybe a feather bolero.

4. Fall blooming flowers – insisting that you have spring and summer flowers in your bridal bouquet is doable but it’s not practical. First off, it those flowers would cost more when they’re not in season and secondly, they’re going to seem out of place with every other fall-themed thing in your wedding. Go for fall blooming flowers instead to really give your wedding that feeling of fall.

5. Floral crowns – brides would usually opt for tiaras but for fall, why not go for a floral crown made with fall flowers? It will really tie in with the whole autumn-y look and feel of your wedding plus it’s going to give you that cool ‘queen of the woods’ look.

6. Vintage jewelry – lastly, you need to finish off your bridal look with jewelry and for fall, vintage jewelry would be really chic. This is where your ‘something old’ could come in. You could use heirloom jewelry for a truly vintage addition to your look. If you don’t have anything vintage, you can always fake it. If you have a really good eye for jewelry and all things chic, no one will know.

FINDING THE PERFECT WEDDING DRESS

Finally, your guy (or gal!) has popped the question and you’re getting ready to plan the wedding of your dreams. Whether you’re on a tight budget or the money is no object, there’s one thing that’s on every bride’s mind: finding the perfect wedding dress. From totally glam to bohemian chic, whatever your style or body type, the perfect wedding dress is out there, it’s all a matter of knowing what to look for. But before you get too caught up in the planning, take some time for yourself (this is your day, after all!) to find the perfect dress that makes you feel like a queen.

  • Know your budget and stick to it. Having a good grasp on your budget is half the battle when shopping for a wedding dress. The cost of dresses is so vast, it’s easy to get caught up and fall in love with something you absolutely cannot afford. Know and understand your financial limitations.
  • Know your body type. Are you more pear shaped and curvy or tall and super thin? Different dress styles work better with different body shapes, just like jeans and swim suits. Finding the silhouette that makes the most of your shape is the first step to finding the dress of your dreams. Maybe go a-line with a full skirt if you’re heavier on the bottom or try a simple silk sheath if you’re long and narrow. Find what works best for you.
  • Don’t judge a book by its cover. Just because you don’t love it on the hanger, doesn’t mean you won’t love it when you put it on. Try on as many dresses as you want – the dress of your dreams may not look like much when it’s hanging on a rack, but may surprise you once you have it on. Same goes for colors and fabrics. Dresses take on new life once they’re on your body – so go for it and think outside the box.
  • Have a friend or family member take photos of you while you’re trying on dresses. Going back later and seeing yourself in photos will help give you the perfect image of how you look in each dress. Sometimes it can be tough to get the whole picture just by looking in the mirror.
  • Don’t worry about trends. Think about the long term look of your wedding gown – you’re going to be looking at those photos for many, many years. Sticking to something classic and timeless will mean no regrets about the style twenty years down the road.

WEDDING THOUGHTS 2014

Do you have wedding bells in your near future?  First of all – congratulations! You have a big year ahead of you. Having a wedding to plan is so exciting that you probably just can’t stop pinning ideas to Pinterest boards and daydreaming about how gorgeous you’ll look on the big day. If you take a look back at all your ideas and the styles you really love, you’ve probably started to see a common theme. From traditional to modern, rustic and vintage take a look at these 2014 wedding trends that just may inspire your big day.

  • Think Pantone. 2014’s color of the year, Radiant Orchid, is the perfect accent color for any glammed up affair. Its deep pink-purple tone is stunning and will keep your big day right on trend.
  • Mis-matched bridesmaid dresses. Keep your maids and their unique bodies in mind when choosing dresses – they’re all different. Sticking to a color theme will give them some guidelines, but let your girls choose dresses they love.
  • Go digital. Think about creating a custom hashtag for your wedding for guests to use on Instagram and Twitter – this will give them an easy and fun way to share their pics.
  • Outdoor Glamour: If you’re laid-back style screams outdoors, some rustic glamour is perfect for you. Include some old world touches like lace and stunning florals to keep it formal and fancy.
  • Art Deco: If you love glam and vintage an Art Deco inspired celebration may be perfect for you. Think champagne, feathers, fur and sparkle.
  • Glam up your cake! From a disco ball to a light fairy dusting of fine golden glitter, giving your cake some sparkle is the perfect, fun addition.
