With the advent of the Internet we get a sneak peek of everything that’s going on, even on the streets! Yup, I’m bringing you all the best street style looks and details from NYFW. The main style staple at fashion week? Textured outerwear. It seemed as though everywhere you turned there was a velvet, fur or shag jacket. Check out the shag coat on the fashionista below. She paired it with a yellow and black button down dress. 

It’s all in the details when it comes to fashion week, which is one of the reasons I love the jacket below. It’s such a cheeky statement. It’s all about having fun with style during fashion week. 

I love the striped dress below. She paired it with a simple white jacket and black boots. It’s a unique look, but one that pays off.

How to rock Jumpsuits for Christmas

Kate Hudson has always been one of Hollywood’s best-dressed actresses. This year, the Oscar nominee has taken her style up a notch and seems to be doing better than ever. At 36, Kate was chosen for Campari’s 2016 calendar.

To celebrate the red-themed calendar, Hudson showed up to the launch party in a red sequin jumpsuit with a deep-v neckline. The jumpsuit, designed by Naeem Khan, shows off the actresses amazing figure and style. The rest of her outfit included a single Vhernier bangle and matching earrings.

Closet Inventory

Do you find yourself turning to your closet and realizing that you have nothing to wear? None of your separates match, and your dresses seem outdated. If you have this problem, it’s time that you build a better closet with clothes that you can wear for a long time rather than looks that seem like they can only be donned until they’re out of style. Build a closet you can be proud of with looks you’ll love for a long time. Check out my tips for building a better closet.

 

Do An Inventory- Have a dress that you haven’t worn for a long time? As much as you want to keep it, it might be time to let it go. Send it to a direct-give charity or an organization like Goodwill. You can even sell those pieces you don’t wear anymore on apps like Poshmark or at stores like Beacon’s Closet. Make a profit from those pieces you once loved.

End Fast Fashion- Stop shopping at fast fashion stores. Your Forever21 cotton jersey dress may look good on the rack, but do you really think it’ll last the test of time? Fast fashion is a dangerous road to go down so stay away from those stores and be more willing to pay higher prices for pieces that will actually last.

Staple Pieces- Aim for some staple pieces that you can wear with more than one look. Get some nice button downs and some pencil skirts along with a good pair of jeans. These are pieces that you can build on while sticking to your personal style.

Create A Capsule- Create a uniform so you have go-to pieces. This way, you’ll never look at your closet and decide that you have nothing to wear. There are plenty of ways you can do this. I like to play with a color palette. Then, I buy a certain number of looks to build upon that color palette. Eventually, I have enough items in my closet to make a uniform for any occasion.

Fall Layering Techniques

Fall is here! For many of us it means buying pumpkin-spiced everything! For others it’s a chance to update our wardrobe and use the cooler temperatures to our advantage by layering up and playing with our style. I know I’m already trying out new ways to wear some of my summer favorites with my fall staples. Below are some other layering techniques that you might have not tried yet. ‘Tis the season, as they say. Let me know what you think in the comments section. How are you layering up this fall?

Lots Of Knit- I love mixing and playing with textures. It’s something that I can definitely do once the temperatures cool down, especially with knit. Try a creative yet chic knit-on-knit look. You could come up with something eye-catching, similar to the look below.

Denim Vest- Wear a denim vest over your favorite fall outfit in order to stay warm and trendy at the same time. It’s a rock and roll style look that I absolutely covet

A Chunky Sweater- Stay comfy in a chunky sweater. Wear it over your favorite jeans. I can see me wearing a chunky sweater with my favorite denim flared pants all fall and winter long.

Over-The-Shoulder Outerwear- Throw your favorite jacket or coat over your shoulders in order to look chic. It’s a confident fashionable styling trick that I look forward to trying out this fall.

Models Street Style Inspiration

When fashion week rolls around, you’ll be able to spot me in front of my computer or my IPhone screen looking up images of off-duty models. What is it with models and their cool and sleek street style? Their looks are almost as covetable as the looks they rock on the runway and I can’t help but take away my own fashion tips for these too-cool-for-school high fashion babes. Want to find out some of the tips that I have used to update my own personal style? Check them out below and get ready to feel some fashion envy.

Rock and Roll- Freja Beha Erichsen loves black and leather, which is why her style is my personal go-to when it comes to trying something edgy is rock and roll. To get Freja’s motorcycle look, consider investing in a leather jacket or leather pants. Make your outfit all black and opt you’re your favorite band t-shirt.

Keep It Sleek- Take a page out of Kendal Jenner’s lookbook and focus on sleek styles. Try out a form-fitting top, like the one Kendal wore during Paris Fashion Week. Focus on skinny jeans, as models are often photographed wearing them.

Funk It Up- Coco Rocha has long retired from the runway, but her fashion week styles still are one of the first to catch my eye. She keeps her look comfortable yet funky in this patterned, colorful jumpsuit.
