How to Wear Metallic Pieces At Daytime

We usually would pick gold elements and pieces for a night outfit, but you can always structure your look in a way that you can wear them in daytime and look super chic and trendy.  Try to layer a gold satin slip dress over a brown turtleneck, pair it with nude pumps and finish the look with a statement bag. You also pair a sparkly gold midi skirt with a crisp white shirt and sneakers for a casual take on the trend.

New York Fashion Week - Staying Chic During a Blizzard

Between the knit hats at Rag & Bone and the fleece jackets at Thakoon, the designers who kicked off New York Fashion Week this week seemed to have received the report of the impending blizzard. 

As biting winds and nearly a foot of snow swept through the city, street style stars also broke out their most seasonably appropriate — read: bulkiest, shearling-est, most down-filled — layers, swaddling themselves in Vetements parkas, Fila x Gosha Rubchinskiy sweatshirts, and fur hats like crowns atop their heads. Fall Layering Techniques

Fall is here! For many of us it means buying pumpkin-spiced everything! For others it’s a chance to update our wardrobe and use the cooler temperatures to our advantage by layering up and playing with our style. I know I’m already trying out new ways to wear some of my summer favorites with my fall staples. Below are some other layering techniques that you might have not tried yet. ‘Tis the season, as they say. Let me know what you think in the comments section. How are you layering up this fall?

Lots Of Knit- I love mixing and playing with textures. It’s something that I can definitely do once the temperatures cool down, especially with knit. Try a creative yet chic knit-on-knit look. You could come up with something eye-catching, similar to the look below.

Denim Vest- Wear a denim vest over your favorite fall outfit in order to stay warm and trendy at the same time. It’s a rock and roll style look that I absolutely covet

A Chunky Sweater- Stay comfy in a chunky sweater. Wear it over your favorite jeans. I can see me wearing a chunky sweater with my favorite denim flared pants all fall and winter long.

Over-The-Shoulder Outerwear- Throw your favorite jacket or coat over your shoulders in order to look chic. It’s a confident fashionable styling trick that I look forward to trying out this fall.

If you have had enough of skinny jeans, then the newest trend – the boyfriend jeans – is definitely worth a try. Oversized and tastefully distressed, these comfy jeans have been the top choice of fashion mavens, from Beyonce to Jennifer Aniston. Pull the look off just like these fashionistas by heeding these tips on how to rock boyfriend jeans:

CUFF IT UP

his baggy pair can make you look chunky if not worn correctly. To avoid adding the non-existing pounds to your fame, remember to cuff the ends of your denims. Shortening the length can balance the bagginess. Most importantly, it gives you the chance to show off your shoes. If you feel like cuffing your boyfriend pants, make it a point to wear the flashiest shoes ever!

Be Sporty

Since boyfriend jeans are reminiscent of manliness and athleticism, then a good way to style it is to wear it with sporty apparel and accessories. Go for a varsity top (or one which conveys an air of vigor.) If you want to look more ladylike, a sporty crop top will do. End the look with a great pair of sneakers and you’ll end up with a beautifully boyish style.
