TRENDGUIDE: THE LONG WHITE SHIRT

We love when the It item of the season is so simple and inclusive that anyone can have a go.
This summer, it´s the universally pleasing white shirt.

Rule number one for the white shirt in 2014?

Leave it untucked and wear it long and loose over jeans, then throw a cropped jacket, short-sleeved shirt or waistcoat on top.  Look to the styling at Viktor & Rolf´s Spring/Summer 2014  collection....

or at Sarah Rutson cool style!!

TRENDGUIDE: PRINTED SHOES

You definitely don’t need me to tell you that the days are getting longer and the brighter warmer weather is finally upon us. This means breaking out the old spring essentials and acquiring new ones in the process. As you move your cold weather gear to the back of the closet take a look and see what current spring trends your wardrobe is missing. One trend that I’m personally ready to take on are printed shoes. They’re fun, versatile and perfect for any occasion. To incorporate them into your closet check out the shoes that I’ve picked out.

MIU MIU

Most people don’t think of prints when when they think of stilettos but these flirty heels will make you rethink that. Let your shoes do the talking for a change, wear them with a perfect pair of skinnies for a pop of color or dress them up with a LBD.

Bring some chic florals to your rainy April days. Hunter, whose name is synonymous with rain boots, makes these fun rubber beauties. Wear them with a dress and your style won’t skip a beat even when the sun is on hiatus.

ZARA

Nothing says spring like espadrilles. Pair these pretties with casual white jeans or shorts and a flawy blouse-perfect for brunch with the girls or a walk in the park.

What will your favorite ways to wear printed shoes this spring be? xo

STYLISH WAYS TO WEAR A SUIT

A suit can be one of your most valuable pieces of wardrobe, especially if you know how to style it the right way! Lately I’ve seen suits with graphic prints and bold, eye-catching hues and mixing and matching the tops and bottoms with other wardrobe standbys. So many different looks for all the events in your calendar!

  1. Pair a dark chambray button-up with white suit pants for a more relaxed look this spring. It’s perfect for the office!
  2. For the weekend, pair your white blazer with shorts and sneakers for a more relaxed look. You can even add a stylish hat while you’re at it!
  3. If you need a girl’s night out look, grab your favorite blazer and skinny leather pants and you’re ready to go a la Kate Moss style!
  4. Don’t be afraid to mix two different suits together – especially if this involves a print suit!

Check out below how you can spice up your suit and let me know which ones you’re going to try! xo

Newest collaboration: NIKE & LIBERTY

Nike and Liberty's stylish union enjoys a cult following, and the next instalment is due to launch next week (April 7) at the iconic London department store.

For the first time, Nike's Internationalist trainer is getting a Liberty of London makeover and the style embraces all three prints from the collection: Anoosha, a '30s print featuring blossom and bell flowers; Lora, a print based on a '70s version of William Morris's 'Willow' pattern; and Crown, a design based on various paisley block prints from Liberty's Merton print works during the late 19th to early 20th Century. The style will retail at £75.

BODY LANGUAGE

People around you can sense your attitude without even talking to you – from a simple handshake to the body language you display – your tone can make or break a deal. Spreading your positive vibes and confident attitude can go a long way when it comes to giving a great impression. Check out my 3 easy tips for putting your best foot forward – simply through body language.

1.     Stand up straight. I know, I know – your mom’s been telling you this one for years. Well – she’s right! Showing off your strong self will give those around you a solid impression from the start.
2.     Shaking hands. This is a time-tested tradition goes so far back in the business world – we shake hands subconsciously when we are introduced. Keep your handshake strong and confident – showing off just how ready you are to tackle the next project or make a deal.
3.     Make eye contact. This one is huge. When you’re presenting or even just introducing yourself, be sure to make eye contact with the different people in the room. This will help you connect and show your confidence.
How about you? Got any additional tips for using body language to show off your confidence and positive vibes?

PONYTAIL LIKE KIM KARDASHIAN

Sometimes I get in a rut and forget that ponytails do work for other places other than the gym! Especially since I have long hair, I’m really trying to branch out and give a more “dress up ponytail” ...
Of all the ways to wear a ponytail,  I turned to Kim Kardashian for some hair advice. No one rocks a pony like Kim so if you’re also wanting to try a glam ‘tail, check out her pics below.

  • Finish off your pony by adding a quick braid to the mix
  • A sleek, low ponytail will take you from the office to a night out
  • Who doesn’t love a fab hair chain? It’s all about the accessories!
  • My personal favorite – a flirty high pony with lots of volume
Tell me YOUR favorite way to wear a ponytail in the comments!

TRENDGUIDE SPRING 2014: DENIM-LATZHOSEN
