Winter Office Chic

Dressing for work in that bone-chilling weather can be a bit uninspiring and to stay stylish could be pretty challenging. If your workplace is casual or business casual, you can often get away with wearing clothes that are comfortable and still fit the dress code.

Take note from these well-dressed women who have their cold weather looks on lock.

Restyle: New Ways to Wear a T-Shirt

So you’re tired of wearing the same old t-shirt the same old way? I hear ya! Sometimes, we get stuck in a style rut, especially when it comes to staple styles. We get used to rocking them the same ways because—well, why mess with perfection when it comes to the t-shirt? Perfection is boring! Play up your basic t-shirt! Restyle that basic staple to fit your ever-changing style. Unsure of where to start? Below, I’ve got some tips to help you change up that t-shirt. Read on to find out more and be sure to let me know what you think of this post in the comments section!

Knot It- Make like Kendall Jenner and create a knot for a more fitted look. Try this out with your favorite t-shirt when you pair it with something high waist. This style would definitely look cool with a maxi skirt for a boho chic effect.

After Party Vintage Essential Tee in Oliva, $48.00– The grungy shirt below might be just what you need to take Kendall’s knotted style to the next level.

Oversized- One of the biggest trends for spring is to wear oversized t-shirts over leggings or short-shorts. Add your favorite pair of sneakers to this look for a street wear inspired outfit. You’ll be majorly on trend. Even Rihanna approves of this look!

Barely Tucked- Wear your simplest tee to create this look. It’s all about looking chic before haphazardly tucking in your shirt into your jeans to make your final look perfectly imperfect. Rosie Huntington Whitely is all about this style. Check her out below.

Looks to Inspire Your Spring

Spring is upon us, ladies which means it’s time to let go of those drab neutrals and aim for some color. Bring some bright shades back into your wardrobe and don’t be afraid to show off a little more skin now that the temperatures are warming up! Today, I’ve brought together some celebrity looks to inspire your spring wardrobe. Check them out and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments section.

Show Some Leg- Don’t be afraid to go for some shorter hemlines this season. Rock shorter skirts and dresses. It’s time to get those gams breathe. Take a page out of Chrissy Teigen’s style book. Here she’s wearing some black shorts with a white top. Love this look.

Rock Those Florals- Spring is in the air which means it’s time to add florals into your wardrobe! Below, Miranda Kerr is rocking the most gorgeous floral skirt out there. Rock a similar look by adding florals into your outfit.

Wear White- Winter white is out. It’s time to wear all your white spring dresses and looks like the lace dress on Gigi Hadid below. Gorgeous!

Let Go of Layers- Leave your jackets at home. It’s time to aim for basic looks! It’s getting hotter so you don’t need that sweater. Let your shoulders show like Hailey Baldwin below.

Summer Musthaves: Sunglasses for Every Budget

The sun is shining this season and you’re definitely enjoying it, except for one thing: you keep squinting every time you step outside. That’s not good, ladies. Squinting causes wrinkles and no one wants those. It’s time to bust out your sunglasses or find a new pair. If you’re in the market for a new pair of sunglasses, look no further. Below I’ve got some sunglasses perfect for this season and, of course, your budget. Read on and check out these sunglasses at all sorts of different price points. Let me know what you think in the comments section. Which pair is your favorite?

Loving these sunglasses.  Dior „So Real“ Sunglasses at $ 560,00- They’re trendy and chic but with a unique style. You’ll definitely look cool as you pull this pair out of your purse this season. Check them out below

Ray Ban RB4216 Sunglasses at $165.00- These rosy sunglasses are my favorite of the bunch. They’ve got a classic style, but those rose lenses take them to a whole new level. Would you rock these sunglasses? I know I would!

Le Specs Paramount Mirror Round Sunglasses at $64.70- If you’ve got an alternative style, these are the right sunnies for you. With their big lenses, they’ll definitely keep your eyes shaded and your style on point.

Black Label by Evan-Picone Tortoise-Pattern Sunglasses at $15.60- Go for a classic pair of shades at a price point that’s almost startling. I’d wear this pair with a simple pencil skirt, and a button down. They’ve got that Audrey Hepburn appeal that’s so classy. Budget friendly and fashion forward? Yes please!

Simple Styling Tricks for Your Blanket Scarf

Big, cuddly, and comfortable. Three words to describe the newest most fun flowing trend this season, the blanket scarf. A blanket scarf, just as the name implies are scarves that are so large they can basically be used as a blanket. This versatile winter trend is by far one of my favorites this year! But how do you wear this oversized scarf without looking like you’re being swallowed by loads of plaid fabric. Listen up ladies, it’s time to embrace the blanket scarf trend with these versatile ways to wear a blanket scarf!

YOU CAN WEAR IT AS A BELTED CAPE
Take your blanket scarf to the next fashion level by just draping the fabric over your shoulders and belt at the waist. You now have a makeshift coat and an outfit that will draw a crowd of looks. Add a fun floppy hat to top it off. Simple as that!

YOU CAN WEAR IT DRAPED
This is by far the easiest possible way to wear your blanket scarf. Just drape it right over your shoulders, add a fedora, and a cute accessory and you’re ready for some Rodeo Drive shopping!

YOU CAN WEAR IT AS A TRIANGLE FOLD
For this infinity scarf look, you simply fold your scarf into a triangle and wrap it around your neck. Folding your scarf into a triangle makes the fabric less bulky, and allows you to stop traffic with a fun flirty dress, while being oh so extremely comfortable.

How to Ace Effortless Style

Effortless style is meant to be—well, effortless. Yet, why does it feel so impossible to accomplish? Yup, looking effortless is no easy task, which is why I wanted to bring you my own guide on how to ace effortless style. Read on and let me know what you think in the comments section. What does effortless style mean to you?

Find Your Effortless Look Idol- Whose style do you absolutely covet? Is it Emma Watson’s chic yet girly style, or are you more of a fan of Sofia Coppola’s Parisian inspired looks? Whoever it is, look to them for help. Find your favorite outfits that they’ve worn and create a collage. Try to emulate them the best you can.

Think Chic- Aim for classy, chic looks. Simplicity is where it’s at when it comes to effortless style. Just check out Emma Watson in her look below. When you ‘think chic,’ you become chic.

It’s All in The Details- To ace effortless style you need to remember the details. It’s all about the little things. Rock a cuffed jean with a half-tucked in plaid shirt. Drape your sweater over your shoulders and make it seem like you barely thought about it.

Christmas Traditions Around the World

Sweden- The Swedes celebrate the Feast of Santa Lucia at the beginning of the Christmas season. Santa Lucia was a martyred Catholic saint who wore a wreath of candles on her head to light her way as she brought food for the Christians hiding underground. On this day, the eldest daughter of the family dresses in a white gown with a wreath similar to Lucia’s famous one and takes breakfast to her parents in bed.

Ireland- On New Year’s Eve, at the last stroke of midnight, the Irish open their doors to welcome in the New Year. Their hope is that a dark haired man will be the first to open the door, as a dark haired man is considered a good omen.

Spain- Spain, along with people from some other Latin countries, eat twelve grapes at the stroke of midnight to symbolize the twelve months of the year. Eating all the grapes is a symbol of fortune and good luck for the New Year.

Puerto Rico- During the Christmas season Puerto Rico celebrates Asalto. In this tradition, friends show up at your doorstep unannounced singing and playing instruments. They’re invited in to drink dance and— well, be merry. Sounds like my kind of tradition.

Poland- The Polish enjoy Wigilia on Christmas Eve. Wigilia is essentially a dinner celebrated on Christmas Eve where guests enjoy different types of fish and starts when the first star of the night appears. Everyone gets a piece of oplatek, a paper-thin wafer. The oplatek is broken into pieces and offered as wishes to each guest. There is always an empty seat left at the dinner table for Jesus on his birthday celebration.

Check them out and be sure to leave a message in the comments section. What are your favorite holiday traditions?

Purple Lipstick

Let’s get real here: purple isn’t exactly the shade or color you’d go for if you wanted a lip color that you can sport easily but does that mean you can’t wear this gorgeous, majestic color on your lips anymore. If you’re looking for something unique to add to your makeup collection or if you’re looking for something to add to you makeup look that would help you make a statement, why not give purple lipstick a try? Here are some tips on how to wear purple lipstick in real life.

FIND A SHADE THAT COMPLEMENTS YOUR SKIN TONE – just like any other lipstick color, purple lipstick comes in a wide variation of shades so your mission, really, is not to pick one and make it work but rather to find that one shade that will look really, really good with your skin tone and rock it. Dark, vampy, purple berry colors look great on just about anyone so if you haven’t already found your perfect purple shade yet, you can stick to that for a while.

KEEP THE REST OF YOUR MAKEUP SIMPLE AND FRESH – purple lips are a statement in and of their own so it’s important that you keep the rest of your makeup simple and fresh to avoid having too much going on with your look. When wearing purple lips, opt for a neutral look for the rest of your face. It will keep your face looking bright and lively while also allowing your purple lips to take center stage without looking obnoxious.
