Galia Lahav 2017 ‘Made to Order’ Collection

Galia Lahav’s this year collection is strongly inspired by the Bohemian unconventional lifestyle and is dedicated to the Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. As Fellini knew his way in Blending fantasy, baroque images and earthiness, so is this whimsical “BOBO” collection; You’ll find a handful of fabrics, silhouettes, laces and senses of style that redefines the term “wedding outfits”

The “bohemians” such as us the DREAMERS, were known for pursuing a musical, artistic and literary livelihood… So, in this context, the collection is suit for adventurers and aspiring brides-to-be that seek a fashion ‘arcane enlightenment’. The Color palette is a mixture of Pink Blush, Silver linings and Ivory and Milky-white laces, alongside trendy unconventional cuts.

Monique Lhuillier 2017 Bridal Collection

Monique Lhuillier was feeling nostalgic this season.

Celebrating her 20th year in business, for Fall ’17, she mined her earliest bridal collections from the ’90s for inspiration. “I noticed that the dresses haven’t changed that much [since then]. The only thing that’s really different is the hair and makeup,” she said with a laugh. So she reimagined some of her first silhouettes and details, like deep V-necklines, which dipped even lower here; scooped-out backs, which were sexier than ever; and satin sashes around the waist, which became skinny, bow-tied ribbons for 2017.

I wanted to capture the feeling of being madly in love and someone who feels pure bliss,' says Lhullier. 'My Spring 2017 bridal collection is inspired by a woman running through a garden.'
Models wearing whimsical floral or crystal crowns floated down the catwalk in gowns with Lhullier's signature deep necklines and fairytale-like embellishment. But for Spring Lhullier has exercised a more delicate touch.

Beauty Looks From Bridal Week

This week, I shared a post on how to get a look from New York Bridal Fashion Week at home. Miami bridal stylist, Niurka Mendoza owner of salon Styles by NM shared her tips on how to get this gorgeous tousled hair look. Today, Mendoza is going to help you achieve a classic updo as seen on the New York Bridal Week runway. Check out the look below and let me know if you try this look at home.
The braided look below seems complex, but according to Mendoza, it’s all about perfecting that technique. “The braided look, it’s a little more complex because if you don’t know how to braid your hair yourself it’s not going to be easy for you. YouTube has great tutorials on brides which is always a plus.”
  1. Start off with curled hair to create some texture. To decrease frizziness, Mendoza suggests reaching for a pomade before sectioning your hair into two parts, the crown and the nape. Start off by pinning you hair from your crown to the top of your head as you’ll be working with hair from the nape of your neck.
  2. “Put the hair at the nape into a medium high pony tail. Use bobby pins to pin sections of your hair onto the scalp in order to create a soft bun effect.”
  3. Now that you’re done with the bottom section of your hair, you want to focus on those intricate braids. “Part the top section of your hair down the middle and begin a French braid on each side so that you have a middle part and two French braids. Bring the braids to the back to overlap the bun. Secure with pins and spray with Moroccan oil spray to keep the hair in place.”

The other Veil For The Unique Bride

If you’re an alternative bride, a regular veil just won’t cut it. You want your wedding to be just as unique as you are, which means that you’ll be looking for veil alternatives to match the personality your wedding. Below are some options to give you inspiration. Check them out! Which one is your favorite?
The Veil Head Wrap- Instead of wearing your veil the traditional way, go for wearing it like a head wrap. Add some bling or some flowers to it. Get creative.

A Bohemian Headpiece- Go for something really unique like the bride below. This headpiece brings bohemian cool and 1920s vintage together to create something totally different. I absolutely love it.

Wedding Dress Shopping Rules

You’re getting married and you’re ready to find a dress! We get it. It’s not easy choosing that ever-important white gown, yet it’s easy to fall prey to some of the faux pas that I’ll be outlining in this very post. Keep away from these while shopping for the perfect gown and you’ll have a stress-free shopping experience. Check them out below and let me know if they help you while you’re shopping for your wedding dress!

Looking Too Early- Try to avoid finding your dress too early after the engagement. Give yourself at least 12 months before you seek out your dress. Your interests, along with the look and feel of your wedding could change. Avoid added stress and find a dress you love closer to your wedding date.
Trying On Too Many Dresses- It’s a proven fact that too many options make us unhappy and make it more difficult for us to make a decision. I know there are millions of wedding dress stores in this world, but try to keep your search down to three stores at most. If you’ve already got a look in mind, try to find it instead of trying on every dress out there. Make your search easier so you can say yes to the dress!
Avoid Huge Sales- Just because it’s a cheap designer gown on discount doesn’t mean that you love it. In fact, avoid steep discounts altogether as they could easily sway you into picking out a dress you don’t really love. I’m all for a deal but only if you’re 1000% in love with the dress, otherwise put the dress back on the hanger and walk away.
Bringing The Whole Family- Your wedding, let alone shopping for the perfect dress, is hard enough without hearing input from the entire peanut gallery. Keep your family and your friends at home. They’ll see the dress along with everyone else at the wedding. Bring some trusted friends or your sister, whose opinion your trust, rather then everyone you know.

Wardrobe Staples You Should Own

Not everyone can shop for a brand new wardrobe every season but that shouldn’t be a reason to look drab and un-fab. When it comes to looking stylish on a budget, I think the wisest thing to do is to stock up on the staples. Get your wardrobe basics in every color you can, if you can, because those are the pieces that: a) will never go out of style and b) you will be able to use all-year long. With the addition of just one or two pieces that are on trend, in season or new, your basics can turn into something really fabulous. Here are some wardrobe staples worth stocking up on.
JEANS – jeans have been around for as long as we can all remember and if that doesn’t prove their timelessness to you, I don’t know what will. Skinny jeans may be dominating the fashion scene right now but don’t forget to add a pair of two of the classic cuts in your wardrobe as well. These will serve as great alternatives to your skinnies when you want to play with shapes and silhouettes.

TANK TOP – whether you’re wearing them on their own in the summer or using them as your base for a beautifully layered outfit in the winter, there’s just no denying that a tank top is one of the things you’ll never never get use out of. Get it in every color, not necessarily all at once, and see how convenient putting together outfits will be.
BUTTON DOWN SHIRTS – white button down shirts are known for being the ultimate must have in every closet but having them in other colors can prove to be a great investment for your wardrobe as well. When you’re in no mood to put together an outfit for the office, just grab one of these and tuck it underneath your pencil skirt and you’re good to go. You can also throw on a blazer to get an extra polished look .

T-SHIRT – another wardrobe staple that you should never be without is a plain t-shirt, especially a white one. These are great on warm summer days with shorts or cute little skirts or underneath, with jeans and heels on a lazy day or underneath a statement jacket during fall / winter. Once you have your plain tee collection completed, you can venture into graphic shirts which, by the way, are fantastic for packing on some personality in any look.

Jewelry Styling Tips

A statement accessory or a few bangles here and there can greatly influence your look. Jewelry, whether real or fancy, can transform your casual outfit to a blog-worthy attire. Make the most out of the power of accessories with these styling tips:

CASUAL OUTFIT + STATEMENT NECKLACE = SCENE STEALER

A classic outfit, such as a white shirt and denim jeans, can look better with a statement necklace. While the classic silver and golden tones are safe choices, it is best if you broke all fashion convention with a bright necklace.

PRINTED ATTIRE + BOLD, COORDINATED JEWELRY = FASHION MAVEN

Accessories don’t only go with simple outfits, they go well with printed attires as well. Should you decide to wear printed garb, you can look better with a bold statement accessory. Whether it’s a bangle, necklace or big earrings, what is important is that it bears a color that is found in your get-up.

KEEP YOUR STACK COORDINATED

A bangle stack is one of the hottest accessorizing trends of today. Should you decide to try this, make sure that the bangles are color-coordinated. They need not necessarily be in the same color field, but they should have elements that tie them together with your outfit.

Mix Edgy with Sparkly

Sparkly and glitzy accessories are no longer just reserved for dressy occasions. In fact, you can wear them with your punk or rock chic looks as well. These flirty items can add the feminizing balance to your edgy, menswear-inspired attire.
