Hair: Air Drying Tips for Spring and Summer

Summer’s coming and you know what that means…..perfect timing for air-drying your hair and getting those gorgeous beachy waves all our favorite celebs are sporting. No matter what type of hair you have, short, long, thick, fine…no one wants to spend all summer long with the blow dryer and a flat iron – it’s much too hot for that! Plus – there’s many more important things – like spending the day by the pool or meeting your favorite gal pals for happy hour al fresco. Not sure you have the whole air-drying thing under control? Here are a few tips to get it just right:

Get those perfect beachy waves. Wash hair before you head to bed. Towel and air dry for just a bit until it’s no longer dripping and is just damp. Use a good amount of volumizing mousse throughout and put hair in a loose braid. Head to bed and let it dry overnight like that. When you wake up, shake out the braid for perfect beachy waves.

To control puffiness and frizziness (even with thick and curly hair). Add your favorite styling crème to damp hair, tousle it around to be sure the product is even distributed. Tie hair in a loose bun and leave it twisted until it dries. When it’s dry, undo the bun and scrunch the hair with your hands – you can even add a bit more product at this point. Once it’s all scrunched – you’re good to go!

For that ideal loose and little bend midway down, tuck damp hair behind your ears and use clips to hold it in place. Keep the clips there until hair thoroughly air dries. When it’s all dry, remove the clips, shake it out and mist with a light hair spray. You’ll love this easy style.

For textured and defined waves that stay all day. Spray hair down with your favorite sea salt spray and then braid damp hair into multiple (maybe 4-6) loose braids. Let hair dry completely and remove braids. Shake and tousle and you’re good to go!

What do you think? Will air-drying be your go-to hair solution this summer?

Hair Color Trends 2016

When you get your hair done, you feel refreshed and renewed. Even the smallest of changes make the biggest difference, so why not change your hair color? A fun and exciting change early on in the year could really make your 2016. Want to find out what’s trending before you bite the bullet and change your hair color? Read on because I’ve listed some of the biggest hair color trends of 2016.

Rose Quartz– Pantone’s color of the year has made its way into hair color. Try a light pink rose quartz shade for your hair to fit this trend. You’ll stand out and look totally unique.

Grey Hair- The grey and silver hair trend was huge in 2015 and I predict that it’ll be an even bigger trend for 2016. I love this look. It’s so futuristic and fantastical. Check it out below.

Platinum Blonde- For a trend that’s fun and will help you stand out, ask your hairstylist to take you to a platinum shade. You know what they say: blondes have more fun! Find out for yourself.

Pastel Hair- 2015 was a huge year for pastel hair shades. This is another trend that I see becoming really big in 2016. What’s your favorite color? Find the pastel equivalent of it and try it out on your hair. It could make for an interesting hair look

Beauty Trends to Look Forward To in 2016

Is anyone else as shocked that another year is arriving so quickly? With time flying by, it’s tough to take a moment to simply take it all in – so we’re just going for it and moving along full speed ahead! One of my favorite parts of a New Year? ….the up and coming beauty trends, of course! Whether it’s hair, makeup or nail treatments, beauty trends are always changing and evolving – and, 2016 is no different. Not sure what to expect? Here’s a look at some beauty trends to look forward to in 2016

Next level French manicure - Go ahead and get creative with this. New nails for a new year.

Styled pony tails  will be big in 2016. From twists to braids it’s an easy, effortless look.

Bobs and bangs ... to try !

Blue eyes only ... Yes, simple streaks of blue shadow and liner are making an appearance in a big way.

Glitter - Yes, really. An otherwise neutral face with touches of sparkling glitter….does it get any more glam than that?

How to wear LOB ´s

Hair trends come and go, but there’s one in particular this season that seems to stand out: the lob. I know, I know…what, exactly, is a lob? A “lob” is short for “long bob”- A long, shaggy layered, collarbone length cut that fits virtually every face shape, hair texture, and color. Its versatility makes it a popular choice for anyone looking to change up their ‘do. Celebs like Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, T-Swift, and Alexa Chung have all been rocking the look this year, and for good reason. It’s put together while simultaneously seeming effortless, and brings a chic feel to any look.
The great thing about this cut is that you can go 2 to 3 days without washing your hair because it’s so convenient to style. You can transition from straight, to wavy, to half up with ease- add a little dry shampoo in there and consider yourself good to go. Here are four ways that you can style the “lob”:

 SLEEK AND STRAIGHT
Easy enough, right? Just flat iron out any wave or curl in your hair to achieve this smooth look. We chose a side part, but a middle part looks great as well…this style can easily transition from night or day with little-to-no touch ups in between.

HALF-UP HIGH PONY

This look works on Day 1 or even Day 3 hair. Take the style from #1, gather half of your hair up into a ponytail at the crown of your head, pull hair slightly from the roots to add some volume on top, and voila! For a more dramatic, night-out look, you can use more hair for the ponytail (think Ariana Grande). Add some smoothing serum on the ends if they feel dry from the day before.

Haartrend: Vokuhila

 Was meint Ihr ? xo

Pump up your hair

If you finding yourself struggling with lack of volume in your hair – first of all – you aren’t alone. There’s a whole world out there of ladies who have fine or thin hair and finding the volume they want (in spite of humid summer weather) is a real challenge. From curls that lose their luster to an all-around flat look, finding a way to add a little volume can feel like winning the hair styling lottery! Ready to learn a thing or two? Here’s a roundup of great tricks and tips to give flat hair a boost of volume.

Hot rollers are your best friend. One of the best solutions for providing volume to already dry hair, hot rollers often take backstage when curling irons are around. But, hot rollers are great! Throw in some hot rollers to your already dry hair and finish putting on your makeup and getting ready. When you pop the rollers out, you’ll have instant volume. What could be easier?
Teasing – or better phrased as “back brushing” can offer immediate satisfaction in the volume department. There’s no need to go wild with this one, but a small amount of back brushing on the under layers of hair can offer a great amount of lift for minimal effort. Add a quick spritz of hairspray, like thos one with volumizer from Fixx, to hold it all in place and you’re good to go.
Get to the root of the problem. Often, a boosting spray or a bit of hair spray at the roots can provide long-lasting, but subtle lift – and, enough to last all day. Try blow drying locks upside down to give your hair even more of a root lift.
Give dry shampoo a try.  Dry shampoo is the best solution for those days when you just don’t have time to wash and style your hair, but it moonlights as a volumizer. Even if your hair is totally clean, using a light spray of dry shampoo at the roots and in the under layers of hair will give you immediate satisfaction with some pretty awesome lift.
Change your part. This sounds so easy – and it is! For an instant lift and a bit of a change, switching your natural part to the opposite side will help provide an immediate lift of the locks. If you take it one step farther and go for a deep part toward one side of the crown of your head – you’re in luck – on the spot volume and a cool new look.
Do you struggle with flat hair, especially during the humid weather of summer? What tricks do you have to add a little volume?

Hairstyles To Show Your Hairdresser

We’ve seen some short hairstyles that included cute pixies and short bobs. We’ve seen medium length hairstyles, full of lobs and layers. Today, I want to feature long hairstyles! I love my long hair. A layered blowout is my go-to when I make a visit to my hairdresser. Extensions are also a handy thing to have on hand when you need extra volume. Looking for some long, textured, layered looks perfect for you? Check out some of my favorites that I found combing the Internet down below. Leave a comment once you’re done! Which one is your favorite long-haired look?

Long Blunt Bob- I think of this as the extra long bob. I love the idea of a blunt cut. It’s very “in” and creates an edgy look.

Side Bangs And Layers- When your face needs some extra framing, bangs that sweep into layers are a handy way to get you exactly what you need!

Face-Framing Layers- Beautiful! This look also works well for any face shape and adds lots of texture.
