Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to launch fitnesswear

The 29-year-old model has worked with Marks & Spencer – also known as M&S – since 2013 on sexy lingerie and slinky nightwear and she’s now decided to expand her collection by designing workout clothes that will drop in store and online in January.

Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday (07.12.16) night, the blonde bombshell uploaded a photograph of her new black leggings and matching crop top alongside the caption: Super duper excited for the new #RosieForAutograph active collection to launch this January!! Here’s an early peak of whats to come!.”

Rosie – who also has a beauty line with the high street giant – has put together a 14-piece range comprised of garments suitable for technical and high intensity workouts. Although the line, which is priced between £22.50 and £65, is to be worn by women aiming to work up a sweat, Rosie designed it “with femininity in mind.”

And the actress – who is an advocate for health and well-being – wanted to make sure she had something for every woman so has created it in sizes 6 to 22 and 40 A-G cup.
News that the ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ star has decided to branch out into the fitness sphere won’t come as too much of a shock to fans as she’s always been willing to open up on her diet and gym regime.

She said recently: “I miss a lot of things. I miss a glass of wine, I miss my cheese plates, and I miss my croissants. But interestingly you can still eat so beautifully and so wholesome and you can really be still so satisfied through healthier choices. It’s just switching your mindset a little bit and it takes a couple of weeks to kind of adjust. It’s been really tough, it is, there’s no doubt in my mind that once you start to see and feel results, it’s really been transformative for me.

I can feel it in my skin, I can feel it in my body, I feel lean right now, and I feel strong and I feel energised. Once you change some things in your diet and you remove certain things you’re going to see a difference in your skin and a difference in your well-being.”

FLOP: Leg Contouring

It started with regular facial contouring. We wanted a more defined look and learned that all it took was some bronzer and highlighter. Then, we refined the concept with “baking” and setting. Now, on the heels of neck contouring, Instagram makeup gurus are introducing leg contouring.

My question is: Have we gone too far? Listen, I’m all for glammed out looks and over-the-top ways to create the perfect face. I was even into neck contouring! But, for some reason leg contouring feels a little too extreme.

Maybe it’s the fact that we’re photoshopping our bodies in real life when our legs look just fine. In fact, they look perfect. They may not be Giselle Bundchen legs, but they’re your legs and that should be enough, right? Even for a special occasion, this seems a little extreme. Then again, it seems as though Instagram makeup girls are just having some fun and who am I to judge that?
In my opinion, you need to keep the contouring to the face and neck while loving yourself all the way through. Drop the blending brush, girl. Your legs look great as is, but if you want to have a little fun and play with some makeup, I totally understand that too.

What do you think of leg contouring? Too much or not enough? Let me know in the comments section!

Morning Tips to Start in 2016

The New Year is just around the corner. Let’s ring in 2016 with a “bring it on,” attitude. Don’t be afraid to try new things this year. Be open to change. Changing can bring you happiness in ways you never would have expected otherwise. One thing you can change is your morning ritual. Starting your day right is important, which is why I wanted to bring you some daily rituals that’ll help jumpstart your New Year. Start your day right this 2016, and watch the world open up to you! Read on and let me know what you think in the comments section.

Start With The Inside- Start your day by drinking some hot water with lemon. Doing this, activates your intestines. It’s lubricates your internal system. It helps to jumpstart your body in a natural and healthy way. Water keeps your intestines flowing while the lemon engages your digestive system. Try it and see what happens.

Practice A Stretching Routine- Find a stretching routine that’s right for you. I love doing a sun salutation when I wake up in the morning. It’s a time for myself to breathe and relax. At the same time, it helps to activate my muscles for the day ahead. It’s a time where I listen to what my body wants.

Move!- Start your day by fitting in a cardio exercise. I love a quick jog in the morning. Get your blood flowing by doing the same. Not only will you feel just a bit more energized during your day, but you’ll also get that workout out of the way. Keep moving, people!

Eat Breakfast- Take some time for your breakfast. Enjoy a tasty and nutritious meal. It’s the most important meal of the day and deserves its rightful place.

How to stay fit over the Holidays

With the holiday season upon us, the parties and festivities have likely already started. And, you know what that means? If you aren’t careful, you could start packing on the pounds. From baking cookies with the kids to the loads of treats floating around the office, having a strategy for navigating all these extra calories is essential. While staying on track with your health during the holidays may sound daunting, you’ll feel better about yourself, be in a better mood and look great at all of those parties if you stick to some simple rules. Already overwhelmed? Don’t be. Here are a few tips for staying fit and healthy over the holidays.

Have a plan. Take a look at the calendar and evaluate the holiday season. How many parties do you have on the schedule? Which days will you need to ramp up your exercise and which days can you scale back a bit? When you know what’s coming, you know how to plan – both from a nutritional and exercise perspective.
Pack healthy snacks and lunches for the office. Despite all the temptations at the office, if you come prepared it’s one of the easiest places to avoid and resist all the snacks and unhealthy items. Pack a lunch every day loaded with leafy greens, lean meats and healthy crunchies – like apple slices and carrot and celery sticks. When you feel the urge, break out your healthy snacks and have a huge glass of water – you’ll be full in an instant.
Before you head to a party, eat a healthy snack. Heading to a party when you’re super hungry is the easiest way to pack on unwanted pounds because your tendency is to head straight to the cheese plate. Rather than mindlessly eating loads of calories, fill up on something healthy first – like almond butter on a slice of sprouted bread or a couple of turkey roll ups. The protein will help keep you feeling full and will help you avoid mindless snacking.
If you want to have dessert, just go for a few small bites. You don’t have to avoid it all entirely, but rather let yourself taste a few of the delicious holiday treats. Just have a bite or two – and then walk away from the desserts. You can do it!
Make exercise a priority. Especially on the days when you’re party bound, finding time to get your daily steps in is essential to staying fit throughout the holiday season. Making that extra bit of effort to get up early will make all the difference when it comes to feeling great no matter how many parties you attend in a week. If you can’t make it to the gym, throw on your sneakers and hit the pavement each morning with a brisk walk or a light run. Just 30-60 minutes of getting that heart pumping each day will leave you feeling great.
Don’t beat yourself up if you get off track – it’s OK, it’s the holiday season after all! If you eat a few extra calories or have a bit too much to drink, get up the next morning and lace up those running shoes – it’s time to head to the gym or head outside to get moving.

Do you have a plan for making health and fitness a priority during the holidays?

Beauty Rules - true or not ?

Have you ever wondered what the real truth is behind some of those wild beauty myths that have been around for decades? Like the ones your grandma always used to tell you: stop frowning, you’ll get wrinkles or don’t cross your legs, you’ll end up with spider veins. So many of these sayings have been around for so long, it’s really tough to know if there’s any truth behind them or not. Not sure what’s real and what’s simply a saying passed on for generations? Keep reading as we take a look: myth vs. fact, decoding the beauty rules.

Myth: Crossing your legs will give you varicose veins.
Turns out this one is total myth. Most people who have pronounced varicose veins are genetically predisposed to them or they do the opposite of crossing their legs – they stand all day. Believe it or not, standing makes your whole vascular system work even harder to pump blood through your veins all the way to your heart and varicose veins are a result of this system not working at 100% peak performance.
Myth: Frowning causes wrinkles
Believe it or not, this one is actually partially true. If you spend the majority of your life frowning, there is a pretty good chance you may end up with a few frown lines, however there are a whole heap of other factors that contribute to wrinkles. Aging being the number one contributor to wrinkles is part of the natural course of life. Over time, skin begins to lose its elasticity and its ability to quickly bounce back. Other contributors to wrinkles include sun damage and smoking. Frowning (and smiling!) are both contributors but definitely not the main cause.
Myth: Hair can clean itself
This one is certainly a hot topic, as many of us would love to skip out on our daily shampoo, conditioner and blow-drying regimen that takes up so much time – wouldn’t it be wonderful if your hair actually could clean itself? Turns out, this one is true. In order to make this happen, you have to retire your locks from their dependence on shampoo – and, that can be a process. Your hair actually has loads of natural oils, which are stripped by using shampoo and conditioner. When those natural oils are restored, your hair actually can maintain its natural beauty by simply rinsing it with warm water. The natural oils will resist buildup of dirt and you’ll have shiny, gorgeous hair.
Myth: You can get rid of cellulite
Sadly, while it is possible to exfoliate and moisturize, as well as tone and exercise, in order to reduce the appearance of cellulite, there’s no way to completely get rid of it. And it has nothing to do with weight – this lumpy, dimpled flesh is caused by subcutaneous fat deposits visible on the exterior. The best you can hope for is a reduced appearance.
Myth: Drinking water prevents skin dehydration
Unfortunately, water can do many great things but keeping dry skin moisturized isn’t one of them. Oil is what will keep your skin moisturized. Using non-acnegenic  oils will keep your skin moist and supple, looking younger, and healthier. Don’t attempt to continually  splash water on your face because it will actually cause skin to dry out even more. Make sure your facial moisturizer is doing what it says it will. If it isn’t working for you, talk to a dermatologist to rule out any medical conditions and to find a better solution.
Myth: Brushing hair 100 times a day will make it shiny
This is completely false. As a matter of fact, over-brushing your hair can cause it to break. Brushing it a few times will help distribute natural scalp oils throughout your hair, but don’t overdo it. Be as gentle as you can in order to not cause damage.
Myth: Shaving will cause your hair to grow out thicker
Completely untrue. Because shaving cuts hair at the base, where it is thickest, it will grow from that point making it appear thicker. But it will not change the texture or thickness of your hair. It will only remove the thin protuberance. Feel free to shave – just make sure to moisturize afterwards. Or, if you prefer to skip the shave and try something else, waxing or hair removal creams will give you a longer lasting effect.
What beauty myths have you debunked?

Beauty Tips for Every Woman in Her 30’s

Have you recently hit your 30’s and are finding out that all those beauty tricks you were using in your 20’s just aren’t cutting it anymore? Perhaps your tastes are changing – and you’re just starting to realize that it’s time to change things up just a bit. Not sure how to adjust your daily routine to your new 30s lifestyle? Here’s a roundup of some of the best beauty tips for women over 30.

  1. Wash your face every night. In your 20s, there were probably loads of late nights out on the town where you came home exhausted and totally crashed without even thinking about cleansing the makeup off your face. Well, once you hit that 30 mark, it’s really time to start paying attention to your skin – and returning it to clean slate status every night is essential.
  2. Don’t be afraid to treat yourself to the occasional facial – after all, you’re in your 30s now. There’s nothing as wonderful as giving your skin the refresh that comes with all the fabulousness of a facial. And, keeping up with that routine will keep your skin looking dewy and fresh – exactly what keeps you looking forever young.
  3. Think about going to the dentist for a professional teeth whitening. Glowing and gorgeous teeth will help keep your whole face looking brighter, younger and just gorgeous. Skip the drugstore treatments and see your dentist about getting the job done right.
  4. Don’t skip out on moisturizing. When you start to age, so does your skin and that means keeping it soft and supple is up to you. Finding a moisturizer you love is essential – and sticking to that routine will save your skin in the long run.
  5. Add essential fatty acids and antioxidant rich foods to your diet. It’s time to fuel and cleanse your body from the inside out – and that means stepping up your diet to be more focused on the good-for-you foods that will keep you looking young and add some extra pep to your step.
  6. Make protecting your skin from the sun a number one goal. Now is definitely not the time to add sun damage to your skin’s resume – it’s time to protect it and keep it looking just as young as when you were in your 20s. Utilize sun protection every day – and get into hats with wide brims as part of your new 30s style.
  7. Hydrate. Hydrate. Your skin will thank you for this one. Keeping your skin hydrated and young actually starts from the inside – and that means loading up on water every day.
Have you recently turned 30? What beauty treatments have you found to be vital these days? xo

Ways to Cover up Grays

It happens to the best of us. Whether it’s stress, age, or simply genetics, gray hairs can sprout up at any time. But before you go running to pluck that culprit, know that there are some easier (and pain-free!) ways to get the situation under control. So  of damaging your hair and scalp, try one of these fast and easy solutions ..

4 Easy Ways to Cover up Grays

1. Use a mascara wand: If you suddenly notice these stray grays peeking out but don’t have time for a dye job, using a shade of  mascara  that’s closet to your hair color will do quite nicely. Use the wand to carefully comb through the areas that need concealing. Just remember not to run your fingers through your hair or you’ll end up with a mess on your hands.

2. Volumize: Hair that lays flat makes it easier for grays to be visible. Try adding some volume to the roots of your hair with volumizing spray, dry shampoo  or even a little baking soda. Then style as usual and finish off with a mist of hair spray to hold the look together.

3. Use a touch-up wand: Similar to mascara, these formulas and colors are designed to match your hair and conceal the strays until your next shampoo. Stash a tube in your bag for unexpected  touch -ups.

4. Try touch-up powder: Using a  touch-up powder that’s made to match your hair color will also give more volume to your tresses and make any exposed scalp area less shiny, drawing less attention to the problem area.

To Heal a Sunburn

Even if you’ve made a conscious effort to protect yourself from the sun, outdoor summer activities can easily lead to sunburns. When SPF, hats, and shelter aren’t enough to protect your sensitive skin, the results can be painful. Here are 10 ways to soothe irritated skin with products you’ll likely already have around the house.

  • Aloe Vera –
  • Whether you choose to go with the store-bought gel or extract your own from the leaves of an Aloe plant, Aloe Vera is the classic, tried and true remedy for painful sunburns.
  • Witch Hazel – Known to reduce swelling and repair damaged skin, Witch Hazel is an easy, topical fix for scrapes and burns. Using a soft cotton pad or cloth, gently dab the liquid on the affected area, being careful not to press too hard.
  • Cold Milk Compress – This is an easy and cost-effective way to relieve a sunburn. Simply pour chilled milk into a bowl and dip soft gauzes in to absorb the liquid. Then place the gauzes across the affected area  and leave on until it reaches warmer temperatures; repeat.
  • Corn Starch or Baking Soda Paste – Slowly add water to either baking soda or corn starch until it achieves a pasty consistency. Apply the paste to the affected area and allow to soothe. Wipe off and reapply if desired. Rinse off completely with cool water when done.
  • Hydrate – Sometimes we forget the obvious: A sunburn is actual drying and searing of our skin and therefore a lack of moisture will only make the problem worse. Drink plenty of fluids while you’re healing.
  • Minty Green Tea – Mint’s naturally cooling properties combined with green tea’s power to relieve pain make this an ideal sunburn solution. Boil 5 bags of green tea (strings and tags removed) and 3 cups of fresh mint leaves in 1 quart of water, then allow to steep for approximately one hour. Strain the liquid once it has cooled completely and allow to chill in a refrigerator before applying the mixture topically to the affected area using cotton pads or a soft cotton cloth.
  • Yogurt Compress – With clean hands, directly apply a cup (or more if necessary) of cooled plain yogurt to your burned skin. Gently spread with your fingers or use a soft, rubber spatula to avoid any nails scratching your sensitive skin.
  • Lettuce Water Tonic – Boil lettuce leaves in water, strain, and allow the liquid to cool completely (or place it in the refrigerator for a reviving tonic) before applying to the burned skin with cotton balls.
  • Vinegar Spritz – Vinegar has been a long-time staple in healing burned skin. Use pure, apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle to cool and then apply to the affected area. Lightly dap with a cotton pad or soft cloth.
  • Cucumber Paste – This natural antioxidant is a refreshing way to relieve the burning sensation on your skin. If you need immediate relief, slice up 2-3 cooled cucumbers and apply directly to the affected area. Another option is to create a paste by tossing a few cooled cucumbers in a blender. Add a little cornstarch if you’d like a thicker paste. Apply directly to the affected area.
Do you have any tips for healing sunburned skin? What are your favorite solutions? Let me know!! xo
