Boots by Body Type

Cool fall weather signals the start of boot season. Chances are, it’s time to give your footwear a serious reboot. With so many twists on the boot—from ankle boots, booties and flats to over-the-knee, wedge and stiletto—there’s a perfect style (or two, or three) for every body shape. Ready boots? Start walkin’.

Pear Shaped Girls: Wedges & Riding Boots

When your lower half is a bit larger, try looking for boot styles with a slight heel to give you a little a lift and help lengthen those stems. Steer clear of anything thigh-high or over-the-knee because they take up too much real estate. You never want to completely cover up a shapely leg – sometimes that only makes them seem bigger. Instead, flaunt them! When you keep legs bare, it maximizes a slim silhouette. All bootie or wedge styles are fair game, but super clunky, chunky heels are your foe. Pair a fun riding boot with an A-line skirt or wear it with your favorite pair of jeans for a shot of equestrian cool.

For Girls Who Are Top Heavy: Rain Boots & Thigh Highs

Since your legs are one of your best assets, inverted triangle shapes can work a variety of boot trends. Try a great flat boot or a motorcycle style for some attitude. Be ambitious! Maximize your leg length with styles that have vertical seams or laces – they draw long lines which, in turn, make legs appear even longer. The slight quarter-inch heel of a sleek pair of thigh high boots will help to make them look a lot less “Pretty Woman” and more “trendy fashionista.”

For The Hourglass Figured Girls: Booties & Knee-High Boots

When you have enviable curves, a bootie or knee-high style is ideal to show off your shape. Anything thigh-high or over-the-knee may compete with your curves and won’t look sleek and polished. Your figure does a lot of the talking and can give a paper bag a sense of sexiness, so choose simple, classic styles that streamline those killer curves. Anything that tapers to your leg will always flatter the most. Looking  for the perfect bootie to show off your hourglass curves? Choose a super chic pair possibly in of-the-moment oxblood; go for some zipper embellishments on a cute ankle-grazing bootie for a fun look this season. xo

How to wear LOB ´s

Hair trends come and go, but there’s one in particular this season that seems to stand out: the lob. I know, I know…what, exactly, is a lob? A “lob” is short for “long bob”- A long, shaggy layered, collarbone length cut that fits virtually every face shape, hair texture, and color. Its versatility makes it a popular choice for anyone looking to change up their ‘do. Celebs like Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, T-Swift, and Alexa Chung have all been rocking the look this year, and for good reason. It’s put together while simultaneously seeming effortless, and brings a chic feel to any look.
The great thing about this cut is that you can go 2 to 3 days without washing your hair because it’s so convenient to style. You can transition from straight, to wavy, to half up with ease- add a little dry shampoo in there and consider yourself good to go. Here are four ways that you can style the “lob”:

 SLEEK AND STRAIGHT
Easy enough, right? Just flat iron out any wave or curl in your hair to achieve this smooth look. We chose a side part, but a middle part looks great as well…this style can easily transition from night or day with little-to-no touch ups in between.

HALF-UP HIGH PONY

This look works on Day 1 or even Day 3 hair. Take the style from #1, gather half of your hair up into a ponytail at the crown of your head, pull hair slightly from the roots to add some volume on top, and voila! For a more dramatic, night-out look, you can use more hair for the ponytail (think Ariana Grande). Add some smoothing serum on the ends if they feel dry from the day before.

Closet Inventory

Do you find yourself turning to your closet and realizing that you have nothing to wear? None of your separates match, and your dresses seem outdated. If you have this problem, it’s time that you build a better closet with clothes that you can wear for a long time rather than looks that seem like they can only be donned until they’re out of style. Build a closet you can be proud of with looks you’ll love for a long time. Check out my tips for building a better closet.

Do An Inventory- Have a dress that you haven’t worn for a long time? As much as you want to keep it, it might be time to let it go. Send it to a direct-give charity or an organization like Goodwill. You can even sell those pieces you don’t wear anymore on apps like Poshmark or at stores like Beacon’s Closet. Make a profit from those pieces you once loved.

End Fast Fashion- Stop shopping at fast fashion stores. Your Forever21 cotton jersey dress may look good on the rack, but do you really think it’ll last the test of time? Fast fashion is a dangerous road to go down so stay away from those stores and be more willing to pay higher prices for pieces that will actually last.

Staple Pieces- Aim for some staple pieces that you can wear with more than one look. Get some nice button downs and some pencil skirts along with a good pair of jeans. These are pieces that you can build on while sticking to your personal style.

Create A Capsule- Create a uniform so you have go-to pieces. This way, you’ll never look at your closet and decide that you have nothing to wear. There are plenty of ways you can do this. I like to play with a color palette. Then, I buy a certain number of looks to build upon that color palette. Eventually, I have enough items in my closet to make a uniform for any occasion.

Red Eye Shadow Inspiration

These days, it’s not unusual to find unique makeup looks trending. Everyone from celebrities to everyday people are dying their hair colors inspired by the rainbow or wearing bright blue lipstick. One of my favorite unique beauty trends happening right now is red eye shadow. It sounds intense but there are ways that you can wear red shadow without looking like a character from a dark teen romance novel. It’s all about blending order to make this beauty trend work for you. Find out some fun ways that you can rock red eye shadow.

Blended And Creamy- This look is perfect for a festival. It’s all about using a sheer cream eye shadow rather than a powder shadow to make it look like the blogger’s look below.

Bold Liner- Go for a bold black liquid liner  take your red shadow look over the top. It’ll help make your eyes look dramatic and sexy rather than scary.

Red And Gold- Your eye shadow doesn’t have to be one color. Add some gold shadow  to the inner
corners of your eyes after you’ve applied and blended your favorite red shadow.
