How to style a pink coat

It’s the month of love and that means we can play with warmer colours!

Invest in a pink coat that will take your look to whole different level and will totally beat the winter’s grey weather spirit. Go for a monochrome look and layer a dark pink coat over maroon knitwear, and accessorize with a bold bag or shoes.  Keep it simple and layer a blush pink maxi coat over a cream sweater and straight-leg jeans, and finish the look with sneakers for a chic off-duty look.

Go through the gallery and get some major inspiration!

We dare you to rock a jelly donut on your next night out, because apparently we’re living in the age of “purses with the spirit of snacks.” A cornucopia of clutches, cross body bags, and carryalls riffing on fast food, sugary treats, and dairy products have been cropping up in the hands of fashion followers everywhere.

Rommy Kuperus is a Netherlands-based designer has a fabulous food-inspired accessories that will make you hungry. She makes adorable bowties and necklaces as well, but her most popular treats are definitely her handbags. Each bag is crafted to order out of hard foam, and they look deliciously realistic.

Parisian Chic Style - Copy it

Certainly Paris fashion week beats the bejesus out of everyone else (New York, too furry; London, too silly; Milan, too Footballers’ Wives), but what of the French themselves?

From staying slender despite a diet of red wine and baguettes to having perfectly-behaved children, the fascination with French women and their seemingly idyllic lives shows no sign of abating. More than staying slim, however, it’s their chic sense of style and elegant insouciance that has the rest of the world gnashing its teeth in envy.

Parisian chic is elegant and effortless, and much classier than the standard American getup of Uggs and a North Face. It’s easy to pull off if you know what you are doing. With a few key pieces and the right attitude, you’ll look you walked right off the Champs-Élysées!

The bag. It’s not an accessory, it’s your home. It’s an indispensable shambles where you’re just as likely to find a shrivelled up four-leaf clover as an old electricity bill. If it’s beautiful on the outside, that’s just to keep up appearances. And so that no one ever wonders what’s inside.

The little black blazer. It smartens up a scruffy pair of jeans (the ones you wear all the time) and you wear it on days when you don’t want to make it look too obvious that you don’t feel like making an effort.

Ballet flats. Your equivalent of slippers. You don’t choose between comfort and elegance; for you, it’s all or nothing. Nobody ever saw Audrey Hepburn wearing carpet slippers.

A small silk scarf. It has more than one function. First, it adds a touch of colour to a dark outfit without running the risk of a fashion faux pas. Then, when it rains, you wear it over your head like Romy Schneider. And, on occasion, you can even use it to wipe your child’s nose when you’ve run out of tissues.

Basic oversized sunglasses. Every day, even when it’s raining, because you always have a reason to wear them: too bright out, a hangover, tears running down your face, a desire to be mysterious…

Tips for Packing de Light

No matter what, when you travel, packing light is a real bonus. Even though it feels great to have lots of outfit options, lugging around a heavy suitcase or loads of bags can really drag you down. You are  thinking about what to pack. Turns out it really pays to keep it simple. Not sure how? Here are a few tips for packing light and smart, especially when you’re traveling for business.

Limit yourself to one bag. No matter how much you want to pack up every suitcase you have, fight the urge and limit yourself to a single bag. Having the one bag limit will help you pair down to only the essentials that can be mixed, matched and used more than once. Carrying one piece of luggage leaves your arms free for your carry on, computer bag or even a cup of coffee – making travel so much easier.
Pack staple items that can be mixed and matched.

Convention, you probably want to look professional and feel your best.  Going for items like a neutral suit that can be switched out to be worn with different shirts, a light sweater and the matching jacket or skirt on rotation will make packing light pretty easy. When it comes to eveningwear – find items that can be paired with these same pieces – sleeveless of flowing tops, a pair of heels and jewelry to really dress it up. Lay everything out for the week, and each event, so that you have outfits planned ahead of time.

Skip the laptop and carry an iPad or tablet. We’ll spend most of each day in presentations, breakouts and conferences, right? So why lug that heavy laptop around? Pack light by toting your iPad or tablet to make your load that much lighter and more manageable.

When packing toiletries, opt to use what the hotel provides and go light on bringing your own. Most hotels have lovely toiletries and will even provide a toothbrush and toothpaste when you’re in a jam. Rather than loading up on bulky shampoos and conditioners, pack only the essentials and use what the hotel provides.

Make a list. Packing can be a real challenge, especially when you’re trying to keep it light. Making a checklist will help ensure you have everything you need and can work double-duty for helping you to scale back and figure out what you can leave behind and what’s absolutely essential.

How To Wear Fringe

Fringes are something we all so easily associate with summer and this may be because of the fact that fringes are so overly abundant during summer music festivals. Just because that’s the case, though, doesn’t mean you can’t wear fringes in colder seasons like fall and winter. Fringes are definitely more of an all-year rounder, if you ask me. You can wear them on anything at any time of the year. If you’re looking for a way to add more detail and movement to your look, adding fringes is definitely the way to go. Here are our favorite ways to wear fringe beyond summer.

1. Fringe boots – fringe boots are definitely fall and winter material. They’re great for accessorizing your look and for keeping your feet warm at the same time. Fringe boots have a rather strong Western appeal to them. These are not usually the kind of boots you’d want to wear with dressy pieces but with more casual and street style pieces instead. When wearing fringe boots, make sure your pants aren’t bulky or chunky as the combo of fringed boots and baggy/bulky/chunky pants tend to blow off body proportions in a major way.

2. Fringe sweater – sweaters are always in every woman’s fall and winter wardrobe and if you want to sport a unique piece that’s both cute and comfy, a fringed sweater is perfect. Choose sweaters with fringes on areas that you want to highlight and not on areas that you want to downplay as this will just draw more attention to the spot.

3. Fringe cardigan – another cute and comfy way to wear fringes beyond summer is to wear fringed cardigans. Just throw them on top of your skirt and jeans and you’re ready to go. Try not to wear anything else with fringes, though. You wouldn’t want to end up in a hot tangled mess at the most inopportune time.

4. Fringe bag – not very excited about wearing fringed clothing? You don’t have to. Instead, what you can do is to carry a fringed bag. Fringed bags are so versatile. They look summery when worn with summer clothes but they do blend in well with fall clothing as well, especially when it’s in a warm and earthy color.

5. Fringe scarf – if you’re a fan of scarves during the fall and winter months, you might want to give fringed scarves a shot. Fringes on your scarf also help create more movement in your look. They also help create a more interesting texture for your outfit that, in return, makes your outfit look more noticeable and interesting .

CARA DELEVINGNE with MULBERRY for the new CARA BAG

Cara Delevingne is no longer just the gorgeous face of Mulberry, but she has also collaborated with the brand for their new Mulberry Cara Delevingne Collection!
The collection, which was designed by the supermodel, just debuted during London Fashion Week and includes the same Cara bag in an array of colors, prints and sizes. I’m loving the classic green, edgy studs and the camo calf-hair (which she admits to Vogue is her favorite).

The 21-year-old Instagrammed  the carry-all to her 4 million followers saying, “ I am sooooo happy to announce the CARA bag!!!” which will be available starting at a cool $1,500. Me too...xo

LEOPARD PRINT LEGGINGS - how to wear ?

Leopard print leggings are not for the fashion faint of heart but if you’re set on trying these trendy bottoms, here are a few of my tips. When trying to style different ways to wear leopard print leggings, think basics, basics and more basics according to the season. Here’s my go-to look right now for fall with a fabulous pair I picked up .

  • Oversized tops. Balance out the skin-tight leggings with an oversized sweater or tank top and boyfriend cardigan in neutral shades.
  • Plain shoes. You don’t want too much happening all at once so stick with one color footwear like brown loafers and a black riding boot or pump.
  • Pop of color. Throw in an accessory in a complimentary shade of red, green, blue or beige.

And remember to only wear something you feel comfortable in! The key to wearing something that seems outrageous on the hanger is confidence ! xo
